Firstly, We have to run ALL the illegal aliens out of the country.
Then and only then can we begin some rational & controlled
immigration policy which will allow far fewer immigrants than are
currently swarming into our nation...
Japan has a legal limit of 3% of non-ethnic Japanese in the nation
of Japan...They currently have about 1.8% non-ethnic Japanese
people in Japan...This includes tourists , visiting students etc...
The USA is not the feeding trough for all the worlds hungry masses.

Personally, America is about freedom and not allowing them in means that we are not about what we represent. We are the land of opportunity, but lately is seems we are the land of stupidity lately. I think that if America is so great and eveyone wants to immigrate, that there should be some met requirements. There should be drug screens, a willingness to learn our lanquage. Must prove w/in 6 mo that you have established a stable income and do not intend to live off the goverment and sneak your relatives in. You must also work toward citezenship and pass a consitution test. Hey, if americans are not allowed the vote unless we pass th constitution test, then why should we allow immigrants to move into our country. I don't think that we should deny people to stay here, but way to often, we are taking care of our minorities this days and not ourselves. I am by no means prejudice but upset that our elderly, handicap, and ill should be the ones in the headlines, however all of the money is being spent on poeple from other countries that know how to rob our system!

I don't think you can ever stop immigration. Then, we'll be North Korea. The population is increase in many locations, so trying to slow it down is like getting in front of a car to slow it downs; its not gonna happen. Also, some people emigrate to other countries which offsets immigration. I think you just need to be smart about allowing immigrants into your country. Certaintly, dissallow the uneducationed and jobless. If you want to bring people into your country, you want to bring the best and brightest. Also, I think you need to limit the immigration progress year to year. You should have a fixed number of people that are allowed into the country each year. This is just my opinion. So, I don't think there is a line to draw, just a bottleneck for proper immigrants.

Attempt genocide by putting poison in their salsa.
P.S. This country was based on immigration from Europe, and even the white people hated the Irish and Italians. This country was also based on the elimination of the Indians. I don't think we could do that today to all of the Mexicans coming here, but we should, because they are invading the USA, and eventually, they will just take over Los Angeles, and perhaps the entire Southwest too. Might as well just cede that back to Mexico right now.

As far as LEGAL immigrants, I have no problem with it whatsoever. LEGAL immigrants have been part of this country since the beginning, and have helped contribute to our success throughout history. My ancestors were legal immigrants.
But as far as ILLEGALS go, the time to stop is now. Systematically deport existing illegals and let them come back the legal way, and if they try to come back illegally once again, impose harsher penalties for non-compliance with the law...like jail time...(where, incidentally, they will find some friends...30% of all current prison inmates are illegals). Get more National Guard weekend warriors off their asses and have them patrolling the borders....and yes, we have enough to cover virtually the whole thing if we wanted.
Tell the Liberal leftist bleeding hearts (the ones above who are whining about "we should take down the Statue of Liberty") that no matter what the sob story is, there's zero tolerance for illegals. Period. I don't care if they have 12 kids and haven't bothered anyone. All the more reason to go the legal route-to set a good example for their kids. If you don't think enough of this country to respect its laws, and you want to start your life here by breaking them, then we don't want you here.
The words on the Statue of Liberty are aimed at LEGAL immigants, like my ancestors, who came through Ellis Island and were damned proud to be here...and it MEANT something to them when they raised their hand and spoke the oath that gave them citizenship. The statue says nothing about "give me your huddled masses who crawl under our fences, take jobs from both legal immigrants and natural citizens, increase our crime rates, and increase the flow of illegal drugs into our country".
Our fighting men and women are NOT currently doing what they're doing, getting into harm's way, fighting and dying to preserve a system that allows anyone who can crawl over a fence or through a sewer pipe to enjoy the freedoms and advantages that honest, LEGAL, LAW ABIDING Americans enjoy.

LET'S ALL BE REAL.., for just a second,PLEASE !!
If you read some of my other answers/responses , you possibly would think that I am against immigration.
HELL NO !!! I am not against it.
As a first generation here,I understand the pros and cons of this debate.
What I am AGAINST Is the MASSIVE INFLUX of ILLEGALS that have a total disregard of the laws of this country.
[WE] as a Nation, have an obligation to our citizens to control the supply and demand of OUR work-force.
Allowing more in than our economy/demand can handle , DEVALUES our dollar. This is not good for the majority of our nation.
It's sole purpose is to allow the "TRUE RICH " to get richer.
There is so much more than this venue allows!
Have a great day!... : )

Illegal Immigration should of stopped a few years ago when it got out of hand...i think everyone should do what a business owner in Dayton Ohio did...out side his restaurant he put up a sign that said they only serve English speaking customers..That would encourage immigrants to learn English...

If you are talking about the illegal immigrants, they are breaking the law so they need to be treated just as any other criminal should be. The only catch is we can't put them in our prisons. They need to be sent home. Millions of people have immigrated here legally, learned to speak our language and have become productive Americans. Why can't they?

To stop immigration first...the US must stop its foreign policies-you know ....foreign government corruption...because they pay out in order to get what they want( the US of course)..Mexico and its well corrupted government allows just few people to benefit from the countrie's wealth...free trade agreements...benefit the US because they imposed the rules...Just to give you an idea how....oil from mexico and some from guatemala is bought by the US for aproximately $7 to 17 dollars per barrel...this is government info...also the US is selling sugar to costa rica...and costa rica had over sugar production...but this moronic government bought out a large amount of this comodity...
few years back...You as a coffee producer had to sell just an amount fixed to the US and to some selected countries(if you live in the latin america) other wise if you had a good production year and you had left over....you got screwed...
Brasil used to dump tonnes of coffee in to the sea or burn it because the US did not allow to sell it...people need to eat...I guess a coffee or a sugar diet is not always healthy...
mining companies in chile are also paying out government officials...
this corruption creates a unbalance distribution of wealth meaning a low, very low paying jobs...plus our latin american governments are joint with religion...
so think about immigration..why people immigrate...what is he root cause....your government started it...
OH.... and Canada same S#117....they are exploiting Belize...wood, oil, mines...etc ......I have seen people questions about immigration, freedom, democracy and I really see the emptyness and the lack of information of this questions....

i think that immigration won't stop any time soon.....the majority of the people that come over are looking for a better life for themselves or their family and the need to survive is so great for them that they are willing to risk everything.....
i think it is a shame that they ones who are here bringing in illegal drugs or are gang-involved make all the ones who are here, working long hours for less than minimum wages look bad.....
we are all immigrants one way or the other......
