I rent a house near a car wash. For a few years off and on I have seen the owner (my landloard) shoot pigeons to keep them off the roof. This horrifies me but, my hubby said not to say anything because we will get kicked out of our house. Now, the new car wash manager has given up shooting the pigeons and put a cage up there with food in it. I thought, "oh good. He's going to catch them and let them go somewhere else". Nooooo! As I quietly sat on my back porch watching the sunset last night, the manager climbs up on the roof to get a pigeon in the cage, looks at me and twists it's neck to death. First when he was grabbing the bird it SCREAMED horribly and then the sound of those crunching neck bones just "did me in". The man looked at me like I should think "how cool he was" and plunked it down in the trash can below. I could not take it anymore and yelled some pretty harsh words at him and told him never to speak or look at me again and he was a wierdo. How do I defend me?

I understand someone's frustration in owning a car wash and having to deal with alot of pigeons. I mean, they DO "go" on the new clean cars but this is too much. That is just cruel. There are other ways to deal with such things and to go about it in such a manner displays a personality lacking in compassion. The fact that he seemed to enjoy it says something about this man is not quite right. It is one thing to deal with a pest as best you can and quite another to get joy out of such a hands on killing experience. I wouldn't be surprised if this were the same type of man that shoots cats with bb's and kicks old dogs. I would report him to animal welfare. Best of luck with your situation.

What he's doing is cruel...if I saw that, the guy would be lucky if all I did was yell. Call the police, animal control, animal welfare, etc and make a complaint of animal cruelty against him. If you have a comcorder, use it to record this activity. This guy is twisted and needs to be stopped. You could even anonymously report this to the media...many media outlets will investigate and report on cases like this. Document this everytime you see it. Check on your local renter's rights....in most areas, he cannot legally evict you for reporting this. If this guy is your landlord though, be careful not to give him a legal reason to evict you (late rent, violation of lease, etc)....he's going to be very mad if he finds out you reported this and may look for any reason to get rid of you.

Hello, I think he is a horrible "human being", The last thing you want to do is to feel that what you have done is wrong. There are other ways that he could control the pidgeons.I am sure that if he got in contact with one of the many pidgeon clubs around they could give him a few ideas.So GO girl and stick up for what you believe is an unacceptable act of cruelty, DEFEND THOSE PIDGEONS.

If he's using a firearm in city limits he's probably breaking the law. I would report him. And call the local animal rescue group. They'll be able to help you.

Well, I certainly don't blame you for getting upset, that is cruelty to animals, plain and simple. Report him to the local ASPCA!

I would have gotten him on video tape and called the police and charge him with animal cruelty.

this guy sounds like a winner. maybe you should also call the
police....I'd go out of my way to get him in trouble...some people
