She gathers toys and treats them like puppies. She also is making "nest". We picked up the toys because our other boxer thinks she is wanting to play which causes a fight! Now she has moved on to our shoes. Any suggestions

She was a rescue from a "puppy mill" she was breed stock the lady called her. She has had 1 litter of puppies. She has started gathering the toys and carring them like babies. My other boxer thinks she is just wanting to play, which causes a fight.I have picked up all the toys so now she has moved on to our shoes. Should i let her keep the "shoe babies" in her "nest". Or should i keep taking them away? Any other suggestion to help keep hers and my mental health in tact!

Sounds like a false pregnancy. Have her spayed.

If she's not spayed...she should be. Assuming she's not, has she been in heat recently? Have their been any intact males around? If yes to both, it's a very good possibility she's pregnant. Dogs can go through false pregnancies. I would recommend getting her to the vet for a checkup to verify whether or not she's pregnant. Your vet will tell you how to handle her nesting, etc if this is a false pregnancy. Did you get her from a rescue or the actual puppy mill? If you got her from the puppy mill, you're still supporting puppy mills...even if they no longer have her to breed.

Do you remember when was the last time she went into heat?? She could be pregnant...or it could be a false pregnancy. A false pregnancy usually happens when a female mates but none of her eggs are fertalized. Or at least thats what my Teacher told me about his 3 year old lab. She took his sons GI Joe doll and tried to nurse it even lol

They can have false pregnancies.

If she is not spayed I would start with that. I would also make sure children stay away from her toys if she is getting upset with other dogs thinking she wants to play

You should bring her to the vet. She might actully be pregnent. Or she is just pretending. My 2 year old pit bull got one of her toys and made a bed for it and would carry it around! My other pit bull would put her toys in her food and water dish to feed them! Has your Baoxer been spayed? If she has shes just pretending if not take her to the vet.

Not enough detail. Has she been near a male? Been in heat? What is it you want to know? Do you want her pregnant? Do you suspect phantom pregnancy? What problem do you want to solve?
Be more specific for the help you are after.
