You could probably drive around town all day long with your dead stickers and no insurance, but as soon as you need everything in place for this situation, that's when the police will stop you and/or you'll have an accident. Don't drive your car if you can't get this rectified. Borrow someone's and make the insurance a priority! What if someone hit you and it wasn't your fault and he didn't have insurance? You'd have nothing. Not to mention if you were at fault. And if you live in a state where insurance is mandatory (and where isn't it anymore?) you will be in for it! Good luck!

As far as the job offers, I guess what you need to ask yourself is, "Is the out-of-town job going to pay enough to make it worth my time and expense to commute?" (I assume you aren't going to move to the other town; if so, that's a whole other set of expenses and hassles.)
As far as your license sticker and insurance, it doesn't matter what job you get; you need them. Period. And if you drive on expired tags, with no insurance and you get stopped for it (and you will- there's a national campaign going on right now through Labor Day), then you'll be paying big fines and risking a suspended license, plus you'll still have to pay for the tags and insurance anyway.
Borrow some money short-term from your parents or a friend if you have to...or hold a garage sale or sell something to raise some cash...but get the tags and at least the bare minimum insurance your state requires. Shop a few insurers for the best price...if your credit isn't so hot, places like Safe Auto specialize in coverage for folks in that situation, plus there are many others.
Otherwise, don't drive the car until you can make it legal... ask someone for a ride to the interviews, etc., take public transportation, etc. until you can raise the $ to make the car legal again. Good Luck.
Hope this helped.

Depends on where you are. Most cops won't pull you over for expired tags -- they usually pull you over for some other moving violation and will then write you the additional ticket for expired registration. Of course, there are always exceptions. We have a city close by where the cops have a long-standing reputation for being @$$holes and they'll pull you over for anything. And you've probably heard stories about folks that got pulled over by a cop who is having a bad day for something small like that and they still got a ticket. I wouldn't advise you to drive on an expired sticker and no insurance though. If you do get stopped and the cops find out, you're looking at several hundred dollars in fines, PLUS you still have to pay for registration and insurance.

I don't know if this will apply to you or not but I thought I might should give you warning. In SC, you are required to have insurance to operate a vehicle. If you are not insured you are required to turn in the license plate on your car. For every day you keep the tag without insurance they charge you $5.00 with a maximum of $400.00 . They will suspend your license and make it impossible to make any DMV transactions until that amount is paid. Your state might not be like that but I know here they don't warn you about that, they just suprise you when you try to get your sticker renewed. Good luck with the job and I hope everything works out for you.

you'd have to weigh the difference between the two offers to determine which one is better. will the extra pay be enough to cover the longer drive? will it mean more child care for kids if you have them etc. also, depending on how long your tags are out of date for you might not want to drive. if your tags are out of date for a long enough period of time the police can impound your vehicle. have a friend drive you to the other interview or rent a car for the day to get there without the worry of getting pulled over.

You should get the stickers. It could cost you alot of money if you get caught and the ins. should be a priority what if you were in a wreck. How would you pay for the damages and the fines?

Why are you even asking this question? You need insurance. If you damage another car or injure someone, you are going to be in such deep doo-doo that you'll kick yourself in the butt for years...

Try asking someone for a loan. Tell them your situation and you will pay them back.
