...but when you ask them to be specific they just provide evidence that proves no such thing or they say things like "you just have to have faith" or "I know it because I have a relationship" or other such crap that is not evidence at all?

Isn't it a lie to make vague claims that you can't back up?

No, I wouldn't rather have a 'choice' whether or not to believe. I simply want to know the truth whatever it may be. I see no advantage in 'choosing' whether or not to believe in gravity either.

You are not obligated to prove your beliefs. But if you make statements that there is overwhelmeing evidence and you think people are foolish for not seeing it, then yes, at that point you have obligated yourself to put up or be labeled delusional.

Why? Their thinking is muddled, and they may have an emotional attachment to their beliefs that overpowers any thinking of which they may be capable. You and I know there is no scientific and logical evidence at all for the existence of any gods, let alone overwhelming evidence. Few believers want to be pinned down to mention specific evidence, for they seem to know what they have is nonsense. All too often, they become confused and scared, so they have tantrums. My sister does that. I quit speaking to her 23 days ago...again. I didnt speak to her for years, but for Mom's sake, I gave it a another shot. Several savants said people accept religion by faith and the savants reject it for the same reason. You are correct about such $#!+ being lies. Zealots are above the law in their eyes.

spamandham,
There are multiple evidences of Christinity. I could give them all day. But you are asking for two things:
Evidence and proof. Those are two different things.

I can give you a testimony of what happened when I got saved, to me that was proof, but the testimony would either be believed and become evidence in your case, or turned down by you, whereas my testimony would become false testimony to you, or inadmissable as evidence.

The Bible properly understood is evidence. The Bible has much evidence. Archaeologists have used to Bible to find lost cities such as Jericho and Ninevah, for instance.

The Old Testament has verses in it that tell of evidence itself like these verses:
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

And then there is the testimony within, talked about specifically:
Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

I have left you as source material of archaeological finds that also support the evidence.

I hope that you find it useful.

If u have a relationship with God, it is NOT crap like that! A lot of people I know would not have been able to make it through trials & tragedies in their life, had they not had the strength and comfort God gives to those who ask! And as for proof, scientists have so many theories, that do not fit with the scientific findings, but when they look in the Bible, God's Holy Word, the answers in the Bible about creation, they find answers that fit the findings they have.

Perhaps the "claims" you mentioned are only vague to those who do not believe. I know deep in my heart there's a God. I have felt His presence. How do I explain that feeling to someone who has never experienced it? I believe with all my heart and all my mind and all my strength that there is a God. For that reason, I know the Word of God (the Bible) is the truth. I speak only the truth about my Lord based on references from the Bible.

And why do I have to prove my belief in God? After all, He is my God and it is my time that I give to worship Him. I can accept you as a non-believer. Accept me as a believer.

In pursuit of my new quest for thumbs down, I supply here... there's a brilliant distinction between evidence and irrefutable (or perhaps refutable) evidence. evidence of God does not exist. era. If somebody have been to work out God, this could be a man or woman experience that does no longer "practice" His existence, any further than people who've seen aliens or the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot or my invisible chum Andres Alejandro Smith have "shown" the existence of any of them. evidence is an completely diverse animal. If Bob Sanders in Topeka, Kansas says he observed God's face with a speech bubble in a lump of mashed potatoes, it relatively is evidence. Its validity could be puzzled, and there could be greater possibly motives for Bob's asserting that he observed God's face with a speech bubble, even with the shown fact that that's evidence, to be accorded despite weight could be suitable. This turns into substantial while believers and atheists talk at bypass-purposes. A Christian (or any theist) sees evidence and is confident - or, greater possibly, starts off by being confident, and then interprets evidence as installation with that conviction. An atheist sees evidence yet unearths decision motives. the alternative motives could be greater possibly, merely as possibly, etc. - yet the two facets are reading evidence, in many situations in accordance with pre-desperate ideals. The evidence? that's each and every little thing. own experience. memories instructed and surpassed around. A universe that got here into being (an assumption, of course) while the guidelines of physics could dictate that count number won't have the capacity to be produced from no longer something. The intricacies of existence, and the percentages of their coming at the same time by accident. All could be defined in diverse methods, the two with and without the intervention of a God. yet to declare that the lack to coach God's existence skill there is no evidence, or to represent that the two area of the communicate is silly, stupid, blind, ignorant, etc. for reading the evidence in yet differently is itself an abuse of super judgment. Christians do it; atheists do it too. The call-calling (a.ok.a. advert hominem attack - yet another fallacy...) is merely yet differently to talk around the question, fairly than to it. That physique of innovations is far less perplexing, to be sure, even with the shown fact that that's neither efficient nor fairly persuasive.

Here is the deal there is no smoking gun. There is plenty of evidence that can be used to support your belief in G-d. But in the end either you believe or you do not.

there is no proof. or won't be for us until we die. no one can prove it to you, it's all up to you to believe it or not. some people believe it's been proven to them as a result of faith but, that doesn't prove anything for you. all they can do is share their story and, hey, it's still up to you. don't you want a choice? would you rather have it proven to you so you have no choice but to believe? if you would rather have it proven to you, is that because this question plagues you?
