What are your thoughts on this statement?

I do not think that is true. To me to be humble is to think less of yourself then what is true. I do not mean to say that you should think of yourself as dirt, you do need a health self-respect but not that you are the best at everything.

I feel that it is false. Humble is an attitude, nothing more. Education and experience has made me humble. As I have grown older I have realized I am but a small member of this world. The more I have learned, the more there is to learn. It keeps me humble. To be ignorant of the world around you doesn't make you humble, it makes you ignorant. Often the most ignorant are the most arrogant. It is easy to be arrogant inside a bubble of self delusion.

No I disagree : To be truly humble you must be aware of the world around you and your place in things. To not wish that you do not have and do not need.

I believe in order to be truly humble you must know what's really going on around you.....To be wise as a serpent, but harmless as a dove.

To be humble you have to be true about yourself and the surroundings.

If you're ignorant of the world around you, how can you control it?
If people did things your way, they would do things that you understand, do things the way you can appreciate, do things when it’s convenient for you.
You cannot control the world or other people.
