Well if you crave sugary foods... eat healthy versions of sugar like fuits.. they're still sugar but they aren't processed therefore the sugar doesn't cause as high of a spike in your insulin levels which is what 'causes us to store fat.... try apples and citruses.... try and stay away from bannanas though.. they have a bit much sugar... Good luck!

I have the same problem!

I have discovered or created a number of snacks that satisfy my sugar cravings but are relatively low-cal and healthy, my favorite being berries drizzled in melted chocolate, instant oatmeal, apple slices sprinkled with brown sugar and warmed up in the oven, or non-fat chocolate milk or chocolate pudding.

I also make small portions and eat them slowly. Depriving yourself will only make you feel frustrated, while pigging out on junk will make you feel guilty (and spike your insulin levels, which feels awful).

When my kids were sick, I always made them homemade chicken soup. If you have a can of chicken broth around, try heating that up with a bit of chopped onion and garlic. Sip it from a coffee mug. Also, mix a bit of dry flavored jello in a small glass of water and sip on that too. It's very important to stay hydrated during your illness. The trick is to just keep sipping. Hope you feel better soon!

I've given in to the battle of trying to fight to the urge...what i do is compensate by doing pushups or a few sets with weights first thing in the morning and right after work.
