i also want to recod to the video as well as using the dvd recorder. the kids only have video players in their rooms so can anyone help

These diagrams from Sony might help you connect without a SCART box, depends on make and model of your various bits and pieces.

Hi I recently bought a new TV and it had one scart lead connecter on the back so I went into Comet spoke to a Salesman and he sold me a plug in box that plugs into the socket then into the TV and it holds 5 scarts it is great the only thing is the box went ages ago so I cannot tell you what its called , but I'm sure they will know what it is , I hope this helps

You can get a scart switching box from places like Argos,and you can connect up to about 5 things to your tv useing just 1 scart socket on the tv.

The set top box will need to go into the video or dvd recorder and so you would only need two scarts on back of tv (video and dvd) . The problem you will have of course is that if you wish to record from the top box to the video and it is plugged into DVD you will need to swap them over ..

Assuming you will record to dvd most then I would assume setup will be set top box into dvd into tv - video straight into tv.

You can buy a scart lead with four scart sockets in. They only cost a tenner from any electrical store.

Get a multiple scart connector preferable one with switches on so you don't get interference.
