I have a 3 month old cat and was wondering what the deal with catnip is. I poor it on one if his little scratching posts and he digs for it for a minute, rolls on it a little but that's it. I don't see a big reaction or excitement from it. Is this normal behavior or do you think he just isn't all that into it.

its partially his age.. they really dont get an effect from it till they are about 6 months old but some cats dont ever really enjoy it... try a HONEYSUCKLE toy - they like the smell but it doesnt make them dopey....

My dog actually reacts more to catnip that my cat does. The cat will sniff it and roll in it a little bit, but that's it. But the dog loves it. He barks and growls at it.
