I've never seen such a thing so I was just curious. My neighbor seems to think it is o.k.

Either she was never weaned off the mother or she is FAR too young to be having kittens. Either way, it sounds like your neighbor needs to have her cats spayed. Does your neighbor have a lot of cats? If so, perhaps it's time to call your nearest animal welfare agency and report possible neglect. Your neighbor definitely needs to be educated on cats and breeding.

Yes, I've seen it happen. It's because cats can get pregnant at a young age, and they also can get pregnant soon after having kittens. I had a cat who was a YEAR OLD and still trying to nurse ... there was no milk, of course, but he would nurse on his mother as if there was something there. cats are weird.

It may be normal and it is unconscionable.

Many pregnancies in a row are very hard on that cat. Either the cat or her kittens are going to suffer from the strain on her body.

Another reason that "free" kittens can end up not being a bargain.

That seems pretty weird to me...I can't imagine the sight of that...a full-grown, pregnant cat, nursing from it's mother!!!

Cats tend to act like humans at times. That is their way of clinging to thier mother. As long as she is there and allows them to suck they will continue to do it. It's perfectly normal though.

Well i guess it is...but she's a litte to big to do that stuff...so i don't really think it is...but thats weird...my cats did that too...and we tryed our hardest to keep the other cat away from her/his mom as much as possible when they are grown up...when you do that...they will stop. So idk if its really all that normal...i guess it is...
