In Beijing, there's quite a lot of foreigners. And while it would be easier for you if you were white, people would still treat you nicely if you're Latin. You'll love you since you're from another country.

English speaking Chinese are increasing. Even the taxi drivers speak a little english. To be sure, the driver of the taxi with a star (an object) next to the "Taxi" sign definitely speaks English.
If you've met with some chinese who do not speak any english, sign language would be fun!

If you speak zero Chinese you might find yourself in some uncomfortable situations. But the ladies are hot in China's capital.
