1 gallon of paint is more than enough to paint a room.
If you are not a neat painter you will also need painters tape. It is blue. Use it around your trim where you will be painting close to the trim. Wall mounted fixtures. Just remove the switch plates and wall socket plates. Put them back after the paint dries.

Get some masking tape to tape the tarp to the floor next to the baseboard. You will need a tray to put the paint in. I think one gallon should cover your room assuming you are not painting the ceiling. Be sure and masking tape the ceiling so you have an even line. Eggshell paint is good for bedrooms because it has a richer look and you can clean marks and smudges off of it with a wet rag.

You need some masking tape, Painters' tape is the best, longer handle for your roller if you don't have a ladder. The broom handle works really well for me, I just unscrew the broom head off and put the roller on. Depending on how many coats of paint you need to put on your walls, a gallon should cover your room well. You didn't mention if your painting the ceiling also, if you are a ladder and an edger would be good to have. Good luck.

Querida, I think you can count on needing about two gallons for the average bedroom. A couple of more things though, the baseboards are wood and should be painted with enamel. For, that you will need mineral spirits to clean up with (enamel will not wash off with soap and water). Also, you will want to have masking tape to "mask off" boarders that you do not want to get paint on.. Generally, I use newspaper on the floor to catch to paint drips, as afterward, I just throw the paper i the trash.
I think you would be best served by going to Home Depot, Lowe's, or Sherwinn Williams (or even your local friendly hardware store and talking to people that in the know about what you want to do.
Best of luck. It's really not as difficult as it sounds. You probably can get free pamphlets at your retailer on what you need to buy and do.

RE:
What supplies do I need to paint my room?
I want to paint my room, and I want to know exactly what I need to buy.
Here is what I already have:
Paint
Brushes(small, medium, and large)
Roller
Two large tarps(for the bed and the desk)
Are any of these unnecessary? Also, how much paint is needed per square foot?
Thanks for your help!

Well, you might want some thin plastic drop cloths to cover the floor along the edge under where you are painting...it can be messy, especially if you haven't done it before.
When you go to the store to get the cheap drop cloths, ask the paint guy how much will cover what...have you approximate wall dimensions with you.
