There is are two consecutive verses in the Quran [Al Anfal 8:12-13] that say: "You believers should smite pagans above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them (12); This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger: if any contend against Allah and His Messenger, Allah is strict in punishment (13)".

The above two verses simply mean that Muslims should be harsh to Pagans and kill them without mercy because those Pagans did not obey god and prophet Muhammed!

Those two verses raise two questions that I hope anyone can answer them:
1- Why should god order killing and refrain from being merceful?
2- Why should god, the whole almighty and powerful, ask people to fight for him? why did not he fight for himself?

God is a creation of man to excuse them for there evil intentions. Nothing more God never ordered man to do anything man said God said and so they felt freed from the guilt of murder of probably some of their friends. Unfortunately religion is the uglyness that man created to make his or her life feel more complete. It's easy to hide behind a book...

I don't believe God did!

Unless you believe that Muhammad was a true prophet, and his word were not changed BOTH then there is no basis that Muhammad was indeed a true prophet, not just a man needing an army.

I go with the just a man needing an army theory, why would God send Jesus with his message AND example of Peace an Love, only to later send Muhammad and take us back to the Old Testament?

Makes no sense to me!

Peace!

First thing - God does not order Muslims to do anything. The Lord God almighty teaches just the opposite of what they believe. And as far as I know - there is God and Satan - so if they are not following God - who are the following?

When one does the research, they will discover that Allah is actually the Moon God worshiped in ancient Arabia and not the God of the bible despite the claims of the Quran. Islam still uses the crescent moon as their symbol.

Muhammad was just a man with visions of grander. He hated those that did not follow him and his teachings. This is why there is so much hatred toward non Muslims in the Quran.

Americans went to fight in Iraq.. if in a ground war an American General orders his troops to kill Iraqi wherever they find.. to boost their morale.. that doesn't mean that the General hates Iraqi people.. similarly this verse is mentioned in the Quran where there is a mention of a battle..

It further says.. if the enemy soldiers want peace then escort them to a place of safety and look after them that no one hurts them... will American General say the same thing.. ask ur heart??

The One True God did not order this nor is the quran from Him. If you take the fact that muhammed was a murderer, liar, and false prophet who has manipulated those that follow isalm, it is easy to understand why that directive is in their from their allah, who is nothing more than a throw away village god.

God did not give these instructions. The Quran was written by Mohammed. These were his ideas, not God's. Doesn't it seem odd to you that in the Bible, God calls the Israelites His chosen people, and in the Quran it says to kill them. Either God is two-faced or we have two separate authors. My guess is the latter.

it is not god who orders the killings because god love his creatures and is fear with his dealings with man, never in the bible shows that it was god who orders the killing as you hjave stated. you have no bases blaming god for evrything that is b eing done badly or wrong doings it is satan who did all those things. you have no bases also saying that it was god to ask people to fight for him. no bases and it was never written in the b ible. god gave us the option on what to do wherter bad or good but when judgement comes there the good ones be brought to heaven while the bad ones will burn and put to fire and will be punish of what they have done

Because only a true, living and all-powerful God would not require his people/believers to do Him a favour by killing all the other non-believers for Him.
