It is very hard, but if you want to have some peace in your life you will leave this child crying. The child learns at a very early age to cry to get what he or she wants, even you. Yes, mothers cry too. Put this baby with someone who has other children you feel is safe at least once or even twice a week, you need the time and so does the child. I have raised three girls of my own and now I am enjoying my grandchildren. No more crying, time will help.

If you're a new mom, yes possibly. However if you are leaving your child some where you don't feel comfortable and neither does the child than you shouldn't leave them. If it's daycare, trust me I've worked in daycare for years and its only about 5 minutes before the child is content and happy go lucky. Unless your child is one of the rare emotionally attached ones, which would explain why the parent is crying too.
As you have more children, you'll learn that your child will be okay. The more you play into it the more the child will continue there actions. As your child grows so does their concept of time and they will understand that you will come back and it will get easier for the parent also.

It is very hard for mothers to leave their children especially when they start to cry. It is very common for children to cry and for mothers for that matter. But like someone said earlier 9 times out of 10 they stop crying soon after the mother gets out of their sight. Kids get distracted easily so they soon focus their attention on something else. Also if a child is left at daycare or a babysitter on a regular basis they will soon get used to it and accept is as routine.

It's hard but it's okay. Your child needs to learn that parents leave for a short time and will always come back. The first time I left my son at preschool he cried for 10 mins, I sat in my car and cried longer. I was late for work but who cares. The next time was better because he knew I was coming to get him at 3 pm and he would watch the clock according to the teacher.
My son is 11 now and I worry everytime i'm not with him. It's part of being a parent. You'll be fine and your child will be fine. When you return make it a big that you're home and give him/her lots of hugs and kisses. This will make it better for the next time.

It is sometimes much harder for the mother than the child, most the time the child has settled after ten minutes of so, but the parent feels terrible until they pick the child up

I used to cry all the time when I had to leave my Baby Boy with the Babysitter so I could work. The most Painful thing that I have ever had to do. NOW, my husband drops him off and I pick him up. SO much easier!!

Oh, yes, especially when they are new moms. There is a guilt thread that is still attached even though the umbilical cord was cut! You don't want your child to be hurt, sad, or anything bad, even though you know you can't stop all of it! It DOES get better and easier with time. Good Luck!

I just did this a half hour ago and honest I think it's one of the worst feelings.
I had to drop him off at preschool and he screams, cries, won't let me go. Than screams for me as I'm leaving.
I know he loves this place since when I pick him up he's all happy and tells me he had a wonderful day.
This ruins my day twice a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't get through my head he most likely stopped crying by now.
