Considering it is a state of mind it can come and go. There is no truth in it.

No you can not. Now that is if your truly saved. Once we are saved we become IN Christ, and that can be found in Ephesians. Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Salvation is of the Lord. There was nothing we could do to earn it or nothing we could do to keep it. Look at King David and how he sinned, and even lied when confronted about his sin, but yet he was the man after God's own heart. Now once we are IN CHRIST, and Christ is in his Father;s hand and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise which is found in Ephesians 1:13, how can you lose your salvation. The Lord knows we are gonna foul up. look at Peter who said he would never deny the Lord. If you know you are saved then dont let satan tell you other wise.

I think there is a misconception about what "being saved" really means. Jesus taught that there are several key things required to get into heaven. 1) Faith in Him. 2) Repentance. 3) Baptism. 4) Gift of the Holy ghost (or baptism by fire)
Many Christian sects have taken part of the gospel (#1 only or maybe #1 & #2 only) and declared that it is the "gospel". Well...that's just not how the scriptures describe it. Once you've done all those things (and #1 & #2 are a continuous process that one must work on throughout one's life, so there is never any point where one can say, "Well, I did what I had to do an I'm saved no matter what I do from here on out."), then you can be confident that the saving grace of Jesus Christ will bridge the gap between sinful you and heaven.
That's the good news of the gospel.

I don't think if you are truly saved that you will want to turn your back on God. You might drift away from Him, but He never leaves you. I have been in this very situation. I drifted away from God, but He was waiting with His arms open wide. I was so misrable when I was not close to Him. If you are away from God, He will be right there for you too. To answer your question, I don't really know if you can "lose" your salvation or not. The best thing is to not even chance it. Your life will be better for it. I love being a christian and wouldn't live any other way.

NO!
If you have truely accepted christ as your saviour, you cannot lose your salvation. Salvation is a GIFT from God, it is something that you DO NOT HAVE TO EARN!!!!!
Romans 8:38 says "and I am convinced that nothing can ever seperate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. (39) Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to seperate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus or Lord.
Jesus only died on the cross Once. His blood that was shed covered ALL your past sins, present sins, and ALL the sins you will commit in the future. That is why his grace and mercy are made fresh to us daily.
Hope this helps.

Yes, you can lose it. Too many people think that they can be saved then become a hypocrite and start sinning. By being saved, you're making a promise that you will live your life as a righteous person. Knowingingly and willfully committing sins without asking for forgiveness takes away the possibility of being saved.

Excellent question, and Calvin devotes an entire section to this in his "Institutes of the Christian Religion". Old book, dry reading, but you might be able to find it on the Internet.
Short answer is no, I believeyou cannot lose your salvation. The Good Shepherd knows his own sheep, and His sheep know His voice. But Arminianism is a popular doctrine today, so you'll probably get a few answers that will tell you that you can lose your salvation.

Is easy to get things, to keep them is where the real work is. Everyone is one action away from destroying everything they worked for. If your goal was to "be saved", as with anything else you'll have to work hard to keep it once you've accomplished it or believed that you've got it.
The great thing is that God always gives people many chances to be saved, so long you repent with your heart and not just with your mouth.

you can lose your way- that is called a backslider- however- it is up to you whether you want to remain in worldly things or repair your relationship with the Lord. Once you are saved you have your salvation. You will be judged on what you have done on this earth. Not everyone that cries Oh Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.

well salvation is not a liscense for you to commit on sinning when Jesus wa son earth & He forgive the sin of Mary Magdalene He said "Go & sin no more your sind has been forgiven". And in Matthew it is very clear that whoever carry on would reap the rewards. So Salvation that is obtain can be lost if you go back to your old ways as simple as that.
