Truly bad grammar really gets to me. Yes, TV has gone to heck as well as the school system. I have seen it first hand, and I don't like it. I fear what it will all be like in yet another 10 years. I cringe at the thought.

Wow, that is pretty bad, I think it is going or has gone,I am hoping the pendulum swings back sometimes soon, or we are in a heap of trouble.
For years now I have been on a rampage over the word "KIDS", but it doesn't seem to bother anyone else, so I guess it is acceptable, but every time I hear the word it grates my nerves, like chalk on a blackboard, why, can't they use the word children, or for teens, call them young men and women?
I do believe good grammar is a thing of the past.

YES!!!! It just ticks me off when people talk or write like that!!! Definitely, something has to be done about the quality of education, not only in schools but what they receive at home. This is just plain lazyness and lack of pride in how you communicate with others. I know that learning all the rules of grammar and spelling can be boring, frustrating and tedious, but it's worth it in the long run.

Yes! It drives me crazy! What has happened to good grammar? Wonder if it's even taught anymore in the school system. I'm with you on this gripe! Happy Tuesday!

Ooh. People think that if the man on television says it, it must be right. We have a station that advertises it's newscast as being "most complete."
Oh the pain. It's either complete or it's not. I wrote them about it but they did not answer me.

Yes it does! I remember when I was in school, I had a teacher who removed points for passive tense. Unfortunatly, the problem lies with our education system. Teachers concern themselves more with the emotioal state of students than they do with the academic state of students.

I totally agree. Why look at the lazy types; mispellers, improper use of a verb,Ebonics etc.If you are going to post a question to all of cyberspace,at least think before you type. The whole world sees how eloquent one speaks and it is usually quite poor.
