"'But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.'" (Matthew 6:6)
Quiet time consists of praying. Talk to God like you talk to a friend, open your heart to him. Always give Him thanks and praise, confide in Him. Don't forget to listen to Him, too.
"But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:2)
Quiet time also consists of reading the Word and meditating on it. Think about what scripture means in your everyday life. You can also pray on certain passages of the Bible and ask God to give you wisdom to discern what it means, and the strength to follow His word.
Much love.

Growing up in the church that I did, we frequently heard that phrase. I never quite understood it until after I left the church. I found myself needing quiet space with no one around, usually outdoors, then focus on the quietness. I would stay for a while until my mind was clear and calm. Later I returned to the Christian church and found myself more focused with prayer. My spiritual path is still growing and changing. Essentially to me "quiet time with the Lord" is meditation. I just did a quick search for meditation and up popped about a gazillion sites. Maybe this will help you get started regardless of what your spiritual path may be. This also seems a good way to keep sane in our crazy world!

It means spending devotional time with the Lord, usually in a quiet environment where you either pray or read and reflect upon His Word.

Use whatever length of time you wish, but set aside some time each day in a quiet place where nobody will bother you and just pray.

For me, its just having a conversation with God. It can be any time. God wants constant communication with us. I read my Bible a lot, He talks to me then, also. I just try to keep him on my mind all the time. I do a work with my Church, and that helps me. I read a kid's Bible to my boys at night. It helps them sleep, they tell me.

with you just listening to Him instead you do the talking people thought that praying is only limited to you do the talking if you keep still then the Holoy Spirit would talk to your spirit & minister unto you then you would know that God is truly great & wonderful.
