Of course they do! It's great to sit back and watch them nap after you've had a busy day with them. It seems like they relive the day as they 'run' and whine. The whining could be something as simple as dreaming about seeing you or chasing a toy. Enjoy your pup!!

Sure dogs dream. Dogs have been observed making the same kind of Rapid Eye Movements (REM) that mean dreams in humans.
Vets are almost certain they dream. What they dream about is a mystery. Dogs also "talk" in their sleep and will sometimes make little jerky movements like people do when they dream.
Most sleep in mammals is pretty much alike. Cats do this too.

My dog dreams like crazy, she has really bad dreams. She cries, growls, and her paws look like they are running sometimes. And she shakes. I always wake her up, and if I don't get her all the way awake she will just go back to to dream. My mom always told me they dream of when they were puppies and all the bad things that have happened to them in the past.

My dog has bad dreams where he runs and cries out. But is your dog making these noises when he is awake?

My dog dreams and runs and sort of barks in her sleep. Sometimes her tail wags ... she must be having a happy dream!

I think they dream. When my mini dachshund is sleepeing sometimes his legs move. It is so cute. Your dog is just sleeping, if he was sick he would probably be acting lethargic then you don't have anything to worry about.

I think they dream. My dog, a westie, tends to start barking in her sleep and moving her legs. I think she's trying to chase a cat in her dream.
