i have a 2 or 3 month old kitty (they say hes 2 but looks like 3) we have a few set play times every night and morning. We will play until he is pooped and its my time for bed, sometime he does real good and sleeps the night, but lately he's been wandering around crying, playing with the hair-tie in my hair, yanking on my watch, bracelet and necklace. anything at all to wake us up and play. he has tons of toys that are out in the living room for him to play with...we cant close the door or he will cry and beg to come in, and i could never lock him out like that....any suggestion??

Have toys ready under your pillow and throw them out of the room for him to chase them.

He is lonely for another cat. Also cats are nocturnal so he wants you to be up playing with him even though you want to be sleeping. Try playing with him more often during the day if you can't get him a playmate. But quite honestly I think if you get him a friend, he'll be much happier.

I volunteer for a cat rescue and we spend our weekends trying to adopt our cats out to good homes. You wouldn't believe how many people come in and say they want to adopt another kitten because the one they have at home is crying all the time. The next time we hear from them, they tell us that the first cat is doing great and no longer wanders around crying.

cats and kittens like to play with toys they think are new.. so the key is to have a varitey of toys but keep 2/3 of them hidden at any given time.. so each week you have 1/3 of the toys out and rotate them every week or two...

variety of toys - soft toys, hard toys, jingle toys, crinkle ball toys, Honeysuckle toys ,(when older also catnip toys),etc

I would lock him out and let him cry for a few nights if you give into the cries you are triaining him to cry so be firm and let him cry but ignore it.. or if you do let him in and he continues to play just reinforce that this is wrong...do not play with him - push him away each time he wakes you up

he is still a kitten and is exhibiting typical kitten behavior... he will grow out of it.. make sure you neuter him at 8 - 10 months or he will start marking territory

Before bedtime I put all her toys in a laundry basket. If she does wake up in the middle of the night I put her in it and it keeps her occupied for hours. She doesn't run around because all her toys are in one place and can't get away from her. I do this when we eat as well to keep her from begging.

I haven't had a full night's sleep since we got our 2 cats, they go through times that they sleep or at least let us sleep at least most of the night then they go to not letting us sleep much at all. We bought a large dog crate and a small litterbox to put in it and if they are keeping us awake we put them in there. we hate doing it but we need our sleep too.

Try an old wind up alarm clock in his bed, and maybe a teddy bear or something it can cuddle up with. The ticking is supposed to soothe them because it's meant to resemble the heartbeat of the mother. We used to do this with our puppies and it seemed to work.

My cat does that. I keep her in my bedroom and I keep anything I don't want her into up high and let her play all night if she wants to. She is pretty spoiled.
