The first phase, the big thing is carbs that you aren't supposed to eat. I believe you are supposed to cut down on fats too. Its to help rid your body of bad food habits. Once that is over, you can add certain types of carbs. The first phase is the hardest. Although, if you are really trying to lose weight, Weight Watchers is the best way to go. It is the only diet plan that worked for my parents and they have done them all. You can still eat what you want, you are just more conciencious as to what and how much you are actually eating. Ony do the South Beach if you are really willing to change everything about the food that you consume. It is more of a lifestyle change than a diet.

Yeah ,you can have decaf with non-dairy creamer. One thing that Ifound is that, you DO NOT have to stick to it to the letter. Example for the rollups, just chop all that stuff up and mix with the sauce. Like a salad. Use the kiss method "Keep it simple stu....." and you'll have better success. Good luck .....keep with it.! My husband and I both lost 25+ lbs.
Aspartame and Splenda are not good for you,instead opt for Stevia,but make sure to get the 100 %Stevia(found in health food stores)and stay away from the Stevia that has fillers in it. They can be bitter.

Coffee/non-dairy creamer is ok. I believe beans are allowed when you move into phase 2, as well as more whole grains like bread and brown rice. If you haven't done so yet, try the ricotta cheese desserts - they are very yummy and a good way to help a sweet-tooth.

I believe you can have at least one cup of coffee a day (am not sure if you can have a creamer) and beans are ok, i think, in limited portions. Check their website.
