truncated means "the end was cut off"

as referred to it probably means that you wrote
someone a email and part of it is missing...

Truncated's real meaning is mathematical. It's for reducing the numbers after a decimal. Truncation is NOT rounding. Like in:

3.456789248765168765
truncates to
3.4567 for 4 decimal digits
3.456 for 3
3.45 for 2
3.4 for 1

So in this context, yes, it means that part of your email was cut off at the end. But not rounded. :-D
