Agree and disagree.
I think that's true, because you do get some men who blame stuff on women, and the world used to be male orientated. Women used to be treated pretty poorly in terms of their rights as human beings, and the bible does belittle them - I mean, all of the really important people (apart from Mary, but they kinda had no choice about that did they ... ) are MALE. The bible was written all by MALES. The society they lived in was MALE orientated. So it's no wonder it seems to be blaming women in the story of Adam and Eve.
However, one can't judge the whole male species on one story that was written by a few of that species.

Absolutely. They are misinterpreting the story completely. God did not buy Adam's excuse that Eve had given him the fruit to eat back then, and it is still a lame excuse today.
Adam was fully aware of God's command not to eat of the fruite of the tree of right and wrong. We are responsible for our own actions, even if someone convinces us to do something wrong.
Part of the reason for the fall of mankind was that Adam and Eve were not there for each other to prevent the other from being tempted and doing wrong.

First of all the adam and eve story is a story to express a basic Biblical Truth that God created us in God's image, and that we live ina fallen world where we make poor decisions.
Secondly, there are two creation stories. In the other, God created both man and woman equally, at the same time from the dust of the Earth and breathed life into both of them. So, anyone who says man is more important than woman because he was created first is wrong.
Thirdly, we all need to accept responsibility for our actions. the lack of personal responsibility is killing our country.
Lastly, anyone that uses the Bible as a tool to oppress any group of people especially women, is misusing the Bible and needs to spend more time reading it and praying then misusing it.

Whole heartedly disagree. Adam and Eve were perfect in the garden of Eden, until Satan came in, tricking Eve first into disobeying God, then she brought the deception to Adam. Adam didn't do his part to remain strong, and in turn, ate of the fruit and sin entered into the mainstream of mankind from that point on.
Any weaknesses men have, it's due to sin. Any weaknesses women have, it's due to sin. Sin is a curse upon us because of what Adam did. The truth of Adam and Eve has nothing to do with blaming weaknesses today on women, but it does have women sit back in a bible believing church and obey their husbands.
Not to be at the mercy of a husband, but they do it because they want to. If anyone's going around blaming their weaknesses on you, tell them who ate the fruit right after Eve did.

Eve was deceived, but Adam went into this with his eyes open. If you read, she blamed the serpent, just like you're blaming the Bible.
Women being forbidden to preach - your real issue - has to do with the order of creation (1 Timothy 2:12-15). This has nothing to do with worth, just duty.

Almost every story in history is a lame way for men to blame their weakness on women.Examples are The Trojan War;only a complete idiot would go to war over a chick,Pandora's Box,Macbeth, whose fault is it that Macbeth was so impressionable? Yes women are always vilified to justify the faults of men.

Perhaps not men in general, but the church (in the historical sense). Eve biting the apple first and not standing up to the snake's temptation causes many people to believe that she caused "the fall." However, Adam was just as capable to resist temptation, and he bit the apple too.
Women have a really bad reputation in the Bible, especially in the old Testament. Take stories of women such as Bathsheba, she was bathing, and David peeked in on her and was filled with lust. Many believe that she was unfaithful to her husband with David, however David sent him away and had him killed. Bathsheba was not at fault in this situation, even God punished David for his sin with Bathsheba. She still has a reputation of being promiscuous. A New Testament example is the woman who anoints Jesus' feet, a "woman of the city," implying that she is a prostitute, yet this is in one gospel of Four. in John, Mary of Bethany (not Magdelene) anoints Jesus' feet. There are 3 main Marys in the Gospels: The mother of Jesus, Mary of Bethany (think Lazarus' sister), and Mary Magdelene. However, the woman of the city, Mary of Bethany, and Mary Magdelene have all ben confused, and Mary Magdelene has had a reputation throught history as a prostitute, however there is no basis whatsoever in scripture to support that claim. The woman of the city was unnamed. Something to consider.

Disagree, Adam was supposed to be the leader, but instead he blamed everything on Eve, and tried to cover it up. What he should have done is refuse her offer of the fruit of the forbidden tree and go to the LORD immediatly, instead he orchestrated the whole, "hide from God" routine.

Many men continue to blame. I can't help but feel that this is part of what angered God. Eve blamed the snake and Adam blamed Eve. Many of us cannot accept our mistakes and sins.
