Mine definitely adopted me. I went to the shelter looking for a gray one and while I was holding a gray kitten I felt a tap on my shoulder. When I turned around, a small black kitten had his whole paw out of the cage tapping me on the shoulder as if he was saying take me home. It was love at first site.

I did cat adoptions for many years. At the San Francisco SPCA there would be up to 75 cats staying in their comfy "condos" waiting for a new, forever home.

Sometimes I would spend over an hour with people visiting cats. Then all of a sudden it just 'happened' The cat and the people immediately seemed to bond and establish a relationship. I felt the cat definitely made a choice -- turning on all its charm with the people it had "choosen".

One time some people came in and they were interested in "an older, long-haired black cat". It blew me away as these were the cats who usually took the longest to find homes.

If you get one young enough you can adopt it, but for the most part they adopt you.

Neither. You simply get "used" by the feline. And women think men are bad.
