Some people like to either use lighter fluid, or electric charcoal heaters. My method is the charcoal chimney. I have a Weber brand charcoal chimney, and it works great.

I gave away all my charcoal lighter fuel when I discovered how to use the WEBER charcoal chimney. Others brands are also available and they're a lot cheaper. The best price I have found was at Walmart. They all work the same way. They're available at KMart, Sears, even your grocery stores usually have them.
To use: Turn the cylinder upside down and stuff the bottom half with no more than two sheets of newspaper. (more paper may not burn) Turn upright and pour in charcoal. Set cylinder on top of grate or other safe place and light paper at bottom of cylinder.

I use lighter fluid .. and a hairdryer!!!

Sprinkle some lighter fluid on a pile of charcoal and put on fire. Quickly turn-on your handy hair-dryer and point to the charcoal from a distance (2-3 feet)...

All your charcoal will be red-hot in less than 3 minutes.. GUARANTEED

You have a weber. Its a great grill. I'm sure it helps in getting it started... J/k I dont know. Our weber is gas and wonderful!

To light charcoal, I usually dump some lighter fluid in, throw a match in and wait for the fluid to burn off. (Don't use one much).

I don't like to use lighter fluid. I like the charcoal chimney with firestarters - they are made of wax and wood shavings. You light the firestarter and the wax melts down and the woodshavings catch fire. Like kindling in a candle!
