HOT CHOCOLATE CAKE
This chocolate fudge pudding cake recipe contains cocoa, melted butter, pecans, brown sugar, and other ingredients. Scroll down to see more chocolate cake recipes and pudding cakes.
INGREDIENTS:

* 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
* 3/4 cup sugar
* 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup milk
* 2 tablespoons melted butter
* 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
* 1 3/4 cup very hot water

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Sift into a bowl, flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter and mix until smooth. Add chopped pecans or walnuts. Pour batter into a generously greased and floured 9-inch square baking pan. Combine the brown sugar with the 4 tablespoons cocoa and sprinkle over the batter. Pour the hot water over all. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Cut warm cake into squares and serve inverted on dessert plates. Spoon sauce from pan over each serving.
Makes about 9 servings.

BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup water
1/4 cup hot chocolate mix
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons hot chocolate mix
3 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:
Bring to a boil the 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1/2 cup shortening, water and 1/4 cup chocolate mix. Remove from heat and add flour, sugar, 1/2 cup milk and vinegar. Mix well. Then add: eggs, baking soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Mix well until lumps are gone. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
To Make Fudge Frosting: Combine in saucepan , 6 tablespoon butter or oleo, 4 tablespoons milk and chocolate mix. Bring to rolling boil. Remove from heat and add 3 cups confectioners' sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth. Spread on cooled cake.

MISSISSIPPI MUD BROWNIES

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter
1/3 cup hot chocolate mix
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 pinch salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

1/3 cup hot chocolate mix
1/2 cup butter
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of butter. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate mix until smooth. Mix in the white sugar, eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Mix in the flour, then fold in pecans and marshmallows. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies start to pull away from the sides of the pan. Let cool in pan.
To make the frosting: In a medium saucepan, melt together 1/2 cup of butter and 1/3 cup of chocolate mix. Mix in confectioners' sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Gradually beat in the milk, a tablespoon at a time until icing is a nice spreading consistency.
