........he is employed directly by god and is therefore exempt from paying tax.

To me his actions sum up the whole creationist mindset perfectly.

Like all creationist leaders, Hovind is a professional liar. Now he has also demonstrated that he doesn't support America. I say put the little crook on a boat and tow it out into the middle of the ocean, and anchor it there. His "god" can send him manna or whatever.

There's no way that my tax dollars should go to support professional liars in their attacks on my nation.

Hey, he's no hero, he is wrong.

Neither Jesus nor God ever said that anyone should not pay taxes - Christian, Hebrew, whatever. When the Pharisees asked Jesus whether it was right to pay taxes or not* He asked them "Who's face appears on this coin?" They replied "Caesar's." To which He replied, "Then give to Caesar that which is Caesar's, and give to God that which is God's." This meant that we are supposed to obey the laws of God AND the laws of the land, or government, but only where they do not go against God.

Please do not generalise and decide that one creationist is like this, therefore they all are. Or should we think "Hitler was an evolutionist, therefore all evolutionists want to kill all Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, asians, blacks, slavs, and try to take over the world"? I think not.

Look at the individual, not the label.

"Hey, Charles Darwin!
It's a natural selection!
If it's there and no one can see it
It escapes detection!
You have more faith than me!
You have more faith than me!"

This god creature should be given 10 days to show up and prove it exists or lose all tax exempt status. Why should the government force us to subsidize religion by paying a higher tax rate to make up for what they don't pay, a clear violation of separation of church and state. Crooks like Kent Hovind should be in jail.

If he ever actually was a schoolteacher as he claims, then he knows that being employed and employing others means paying taxes. No judge is likely to fall for his working-for-god line.

Then again, this arrest took place in Florida, so anything is possible....

Hovind is a nutcase. I've found that most people who push Creationism are nutcases. The rest are just ignorant about science and are being told nonsense by their clergy.

I have never personally heard of this guy. He is not any hero of mine.

I pay my taxes, and I'm a Christian!

Don't take one weirdo as a blueprint for us all.

I happen to agree..these people live in LaLa land and whatever they get is fine with me. Somehow, I don't think his god is riding to his rescue.
