It's wrong. When we cut off our split ends, we're cutting off the oldest part of the hair. Our hair simply looks longer because it's so much healthier. If split ends are left alone, they can split all the way up the hair shaft. Makes your hair look dull and frizzy.
YOU are right!

You are correct in your assessment. Clipping or trimming split ends does not make your hair grow faster.
What I believe is occurring is when your hair splits it is dry and damaged. If you take it between your fingers and look at the ends they appear to be lighter in color than the healthy part of the hair shaft.
Generally most people wear light colored clothing in the spring and summer, the growing seasons. The hair is light and doesn't appear to grow because it blends in with light colored clothing.
When the ends are blunt cut it leaves the darker shaft as the hair end. We can more readily see growth when the end is dark and therefore it looks like the hair is growing faster because now you can track its growth easier. It's more easily seen to be growing. So . . . . it's an illusion with a psychological twist. Just my theory.

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. Learn here https://bitly.im/aMK4F It is not a very serious problem and with a little bit of caution you will be able to prevent further hair loss. There are certain uncontrollable factors like pregnancy conditions or certain illness or genetic factors that will result in hair loss. But, this does not mean that you cannot do something about your hair loss.

You are right, the only reason to cut split ends is to make your hair look neat, otherwise your hair will just keep growing and looking unkept. That's just something alot of hairstylist say and they keep passing it on. It's stupid.

Your hair doesnt grow faster it just looks like it.when your tips are damaged they break off, thus growth cannot be seen.but if you trim your ends regularly then they are healthy and dont break off, which means your hair grows healthy and growth isnt prolonged by split ends that keep on breaking
