black chicken is termed a "silkie" bantam via shape of its feathers, which lack the ordinary forms of webs to grant the visual charm of down or silky hair The Silkie is a style of chicken believed to have originated in eastern Asia. Silkies have the visual charm of a huge fluffy ball of feathers via their feathers lacking functioning barbicels; in truth, all their feathers are very very like down. Their unique visual charm and quiet temperament recommend they are often saved as pets. The hens honestly exchange into broody, and are seen remarkable mothers; although, they are undesirable egg layers. Silkies have short legs, undesirable mobility, and can't fly. As such, predators would be greater of a concern for silkies than different breeds. although the male is a greater conserving chook, and in case you commit to have silkie hens you may positioned money right into a fowl. it is common to consume the chicken's eggs (as long as they are clean) as no chicks will advance until eventually the fertile eggs are incubated.
