Heart Disease and Cancer run in my family. Sure it is possible that this factors into my life but it does not dictate my life. I do everything to avoid possible risks but I live like I want and enjoy everyday. After all, natural disasters and car accidents can occur also. Life is for living...if the bad happens deal with it when and if it happens.

Heart disease runs in my dad's side of the family, everyone in my family dies because of their heart. My mum's side has had a few people die of cancer, so maybe I'll die of heart cancer :)
Maybe it's not a disease that RUNS in the family though. Looking from everyone's answers, most say heart disease and cancer. So maybe it's not genetic but just part of the human race. Maybe the human race as a whole aren't taking good care of their heart. And we all know that cancer is in everyone, but it just needs a trigger.

Skin cancer but fortunately, not melanoma. I always use lots of sunscreen. Both my late grandfather and aunt had alzheimer's disease and that scares me. I hope my mom doesn't get it. I am not too scared of myself getting it because I exercise a lot an play and teach music, so my brain is always working hard.
We also have migraines in my family and I am sorry to say, that 3 of my kids have them. Sometimes you pass on things without even knowing that you carry the gene. 3 of my 5 kids had lazy eyes. Neither my ex-husband or I had lazy eyes but both of us had to be carriers for the kids to get it. It turns out that someone a few generations back in his family had it and I have a 3rd cousin who had it. Weird, huh?

Heat disease and a few cancer types. well, if one has to die, one should accept the fact. everyone dies eventually. don't live your life with the fear of diseases and death cuz that'll ruin your enjoyment in life! instead, be positive and live each day to its fullest. cliched, but so true.
if you're really worried, you can lead a healthy lifestyle from now to reduce any risks.

there's cancer running through my family. I'm a bit scared but don't let it get too close to me. And no... don't do anything special to prevent it. My philosophy is... what ever will be, will be. Why live this precious life in permanent fear, just enjoy every minute you got to the fullest.

My grandparents (both sides) were very healthy & died of old age. My parents are boderline cases of high blood pressure & high blood sugar. Heart diseases, diabetes etc. are really not hereditary & our current lifestyles are responsible for so many ppl suffering from them.
