You die until judgement day when the Book of Life shall be opened. (i.e. the records of everbody's deeds good or bad are written) and all the dead and living people shall be made to answer for their deeds whilst alive. Then you either go to Heaven of Hell....
No one needs to be perfect, indeed no one can be perfect; but we all need to live a life in which we are considerate of others and we try oour best to contribute positively to our communities and environment.
This is my very christian view point; but i believe fundamentally most religions teach love and consideration. Its the zealots - and every religion has its fair share - that always take an extreme view of everything.

There are two aspects of our life – the mind and body. We are limited physically, limited in every sense. The physical aspects of our mind, our senses and sensations, for example are limited too, both in their range and capacity. We can enjoy just that much of pleasures or happiness of life. The periods of sorrow and sadness must follow in order to invigorate us spiritually so that we may enjoy better things that also must follow. Similarly we can take just that much of pain, may it be a physical pain, heartache or the pain of dying, we can have only as much as it is physically possible for us endure or realise. After a certain fixed limit, our sense refuse to pass signals to our brain, and we feel numbness spreading, mental numbness is when we faint, for example. The fear of death for this reason is not merely due to the physical pain, but also due to imminent possibility of things happening to us that have so far been unknown to our experience. The well-know fear of the unknown - try to take a few steps with your eyes closed along a safe street that you know very well.
The actual death would be the death of our world, the world, as we know it, in our mind - when we dye, I humbly speculate, we realise that our world is dying instead; and that we are passing onto somewhere different, and perhaps new. Now, this is frightening! The mind - the mind that is an elaborate extension of our worldly existence – is, in an ideal case, justly constructed and orientated as a human entity. We can say that our world, or the world we know, is a just and faithful world where there is constant spread of light and love with no regions of darkness - this is all in our mind. In our mind there is everything we know, and everything we do not know but we could know through our mind. There is the universe, galaxies, stars and planets and people we love, like or hate, all. Now, after the failure of our physical systems we enter into a phase where we witness the end of our world – our worldly mind. The universe, the galaxies, the stars, this planet and people - will they be glorified to become our heavenly home? Or will they jumble together into a hellish mess? Who can tell? But we can hope, have faith and do good things to each other to make sure the mind is a mind of lasting bliss and happiness in this world, and in the world that is to follow.
God bless, and take care!

Well your body will decompose, but I guess you must truly be conscerned about your soul. That is the important thing anyway.
Of course it depends who you are asking. Myself as a christian would reply that you either go to Heaven or Hell, depending on whether you accept God or not. By you asking this question, I am led to believe that you must not, as otherwise you would believe that you would be going to Heaven, as I do.
I believe that it is that simple, Heaven or Hell. Other religions think differently, but I don't think it my place to comment on that. Hope you find your answer, and I hope it is the same as mine!
God bless you, whatever you choose.

i don't believe anything happens, but then i believe in karma. i don't think it matters what actually happens, if you live a basically good life then w/e it doesn't matter.
i turned away from Christianity because its a load of $%^& they say that if you are truly sorry then god will forgive you and you will go to heaven. well, if you live a bad life and get faced with 'hell' youre gonna be VERY sorry for what you and you'll go to heaven...

If only we knew. Most religions have a view of afterlife but they are not all the same and maybe none are correct. Maybe what happens to you depends on what you believe. Only time and death will tell.

Nothing. 'You' cease to exist.
A gloomy prospect, really, but it's the only one that fits the evidence.
Most people can't hack the thought, which is why they invented the concept of an afterlife.

The body dies, not the soul.Just imagine you are moving from one house to another...Life goes on as for some you are dead and for others you are a newcomer.Depending on your deeds, whether good or bad (karma),this determines your future life.I could go on and on...Enough for now.

who knows, who cares and who will remember any way, your dead. As far as i know nobody has returned to tell us what happens, its arrogant beyond the extreme to think that we are "special" and that something awaits, the only thing for certain is that if you get buried you decompose, if you get cremated you burn, simple. Life becomes death for each and everything on the planet.

i believe when we die . we are met by those we have loved and passed before us
we are taken to spirit realm and we have an account of our life , which would depict the realm of spirit in which we would reside
we would continue to grow and develop in spirit until eventually joining with the god energy
