That depends on whether your dog has rabies. Is he frothing at the mouth? If you're in doubt, take him to a vet. Dogs mouths are cleaner than humans.

Personally I think you need to take the dog to the Doctor and you take yourself to the vet! Rabies, no .Infection, maybe from being stupid with a razor blade. For goodness sakes use the brain that god gave you. Wash the cut with antiseptic and leave the pup alone.

not if your dog has been given anti-rabies shots. run to the doc anyway and check your dogs medical records with the vet, as a precaution. though i have a strong feeling any infection you may have would be through slicing the wound with a blade. what is with you?!! that is the dumbest thing you could have done! you'll probably have tetanus. good luck

Rabies is highly contagious. If you have it you wont see symptions until its to late. Once symptons show there is nothing anyone can do. If you want your dog tested the only way to find out is to kill it and test its brain tissue. First i would go to your doctor and get a rabies shot, there are several types you can get post and pre exposure. and there are usually around 6 injections u will have to get. Also check your dog see if there is any bite marks on the animal, u need to check this really well. Some symptons of rabies encludes....
biting, attacking phantom objects, drooling due to facial paralesis, licking at one area, mad eyes strange wondering or weird looking eyes, hydro phobia (fear of water),
once symptons have started to show there is nothing anyone can do for the animal and its best to get ur vet out to put him down, its the most humane thing to do otherwise he will die a horrible death by choking on his own tongue coz of facial and throat paralisis. If you would like anymore info please email me. I have done a major assignment for my course about rabies so i know all the signs and any info you need

Well, I need alittle more info. Does your dog have rabies? If hes been to the vets and is up on his shots, you should be fine. But if he has never been tested for heartworms or anyother testes, you should get it checked out., and get tested. If you know already that he has rabies, then you need to go to his vet ASAP and your doctor ASAP because you cannot get rid of rabies! Its a sticky situation when it comes to rabies. Its not something to play around with. Call you doctor and ask them!

If your dog is current on his rabies shots then you have nothing to worry about. If he isn't then get his shots. And the chances of him already having rabies is very slim. You are safe, but you shouldn't let rottweilers play rough enough to break the skin. He will get a lot more powerful as he ages and you don't want to try to break him of the habit then.

What would make you think your 5 month old puppy even HAS rabies?!
Wash your bite, excuse me CUT since you took a blade too it.
Put on a band-aid, and make an appointment to see your vet to get your puppy up to date on his shots!

You can only get rabies if your dog has rabies.

If your dog has rabies then you need to get treatment.
