"The unexamined life is not worth living"
-Socrates

I am a firm believer in this and have a lot of respect for people who can make their argument cleanly, fairly, and logically - even if I don't agree with them.

However, some people can't handle having their opinions questioned publicly, and that's ok. It's still important for them to be questioned, though, because hopefully that will instigate them into thinking about it themselves, even if it's not publicly.

You sound like you had previous question in mind when you wrote this and I have no idea what that's about. Keep in mind that it's important to note the distinction between questioning someone and attacking or berating someone for a view they hold.

Not exactly sure what your question means.

What the heck are people doing? They're on Yahoo Quesitons and Answers trying to help people.

My opinion is based upon facts and observations- unlike the government who wants money for that information and don't apprecaite it anyway.

Does having my opinion make me feel less worth? No, I give them answers that make them think, like a good instructor should do.

The birth of the intelectuality in human occurs when he / she asks the question beginig with "why".

The people asking questions are the ones who are the founders of better community. These are small in number and hold a significant value for example scholars, scientists etc. Rest of the people are like the flock of sheep which follows the direction of the leader with their heads facing the ground.

You can choose what position you want in the society.

When someone hears their religion be criticized they often take it as a personal attack. You can see a big difference if you try arguing with them about something that they know is true. They won't get hostile or angry..they will just think you are nuts. The anger they show is because they know something is fishy about what they believe and they can't defend it with logic or reason.

People are judgemental because it's human nature to believe that we're better than anyone else. Those who do not act as we do or believe what we believe are judged to be in error.

What does your Christianity have to do with it?

Sure, it's fine to question, but if it gets down to judging those we really don't know, then it becomes more of an offense. So it depends on what is being said and how it is done.

All ideas and beliefs need to be questioned and challenged - That's the only way to learn.

Don't listen to people who try to change your opinion on things.
Stick with what you think and don't always think that other people are right even if they sound so.
