I think that the government and the CBI are in bed together on this issue. If school children really are so incompetant, whose damn fault is that? Government left wing ideaology that has failed miserably. The CBI won't care about the social consequences of immigration, because it is not their responsibility, it is the governments. You don't suddenly end up with a so called 'skills gap', or a lack of Doctors, nurses, plumbers etc. It has been developing over a number of years. Why hasn't it been recognised and remedied earlier? Perhaps now we know why, it has provided the government with an excuse to let in many more immigrants, in fulfillment of their left wing ideaology. Don't lets forget about the many other routes that enable people to break into this country. It is important to understand that, as far as the government is concerned, there are no longer any borders around Britain, that is part of the deal in joining the EU. That is why they are called migrants now and not immigrants. I could go on, but I have responded to so many questions like this, sorry.

Absolutely agree with you 100%. I had my A-level education in another country and my university education in the UK. I can tell you that the university was absolutely NOTHING compared to the A-level schooling I had abroad. That education is really making you work very hard for your qualification, which for me was great as it really set me up for university. Because I didn't do that well at my A-levels I wouldn't have been able to get into any of the universities out there because there are point systems, which really filters out people and they only get the best. It's a bit like trying to get into some elite circle of Cambridge, almost impossible. So, yeah, UK education is very wishy-washy. I look at the kids' homework and I'm really devastated to see how little is expected from them. In France, for example, a simple person who is selling wallpapers in a shop has much better education and therfore is more 'intelligent' than a primary school teacher in the UK. But then again, not long ago school inspectors were given some booklet explaining the differences between it's, its and other similar basic English language skills that should have been mastered at a very young age. Poor education like this just produces young adults that have no skills for any of the jobs.

Absolute rubbish! Why are there 5.5m people unemployed interior the united kingdom on countless kinds of income and a added a million.5m no longer able to declare by using ability sorting out. additionally 1000's of submit graduates around the employment spectrum who're the two contained interior the above U/E discern or are working for the minimum salary? it fairly is been admitted by ability of our marvelous employer people who migrants are being introduced in as their labour is far less costly. This usa could be taken in the previous the ecu courtroom of Justice for the way it treats it fairly is workers no be counted if or no longer they have been born right here or have come from someplace else. that's a 2 class society, e.g. the Blair's and Kinnock's on actual salaries with their plutocratic pals of all events who help them to maintain the status quo. the rest people could consistently examine or hear to their endless claptrap and spin that's placed out interior the servile media. Many migrants are being taken advantage of in this country by unscrupulous "employers"! Thus driving down rates of pay for British citizens.

And if (and we all know it is!) our schooling is a problem, then it needs looking at and it needs looking at FAST. Sod all this rubbish that if a kid cannot/will not behave at school, they only need to attend for an hour a day! What the hell is that all about?

Interesting article in one of the nationals recently - demonstrating that even TEACHERS could not perform BASIC tests that a 10 year old should be able to cope with.

Are these teachers fraudulently claiming their salaries for TEACHING our kids?

That's the biggest load of crock Ive ever heard and simply untrue. The fact remains that migrants are here to be used as cheap labour. Talking about Labour it was New Labour who promised to provide training for Dentist, Doctors, Specialised Nurses. We have MRI scanning machines not in use because we do not have the trained staff. Not because there arent British people waiting and skilled enough to be trained, but because government has been so short-sighted.

I think it is terrible that we can't even provide our youth with a decent level of education anyymore.

Does this mean that the next generation of youths will be even less educated than the current one!!?

I suppose our youths being able to empathise about oppressed bloody rainforest indians, instead of being able to read and write is viewed as a good thing ?

this bodes terribly for the future of the British as a people and a race.

Yes it is true.Migrants bring skills.Use of calculator and computer have made in the west leaning of Mathematics impossible.Similarly people are not interested in studying basic theoritical science like maths, physics ,chemistry etc had become unpopualr. In the near future in the West and USA,may have to import teachers in basic sciences.Learning of pure sciences, instead of technology must be encouraged .It is a tragedy scool children use calculater to add 1 and 2.

absolutely true but it's more like the locals won't do the work and want to start on a good wage half way up the ladder, I work in employment and assist Eastern Europeans to gain employment, not just Eastern Europeans but people of any ethnicity yet it's the foreign people who take the jobs, indigenous people laugh saying they want better.
