be carefull with ADD drugs
I took Ritalin as a teen and as a side effect developed chronic insomnia from which I still suffer today 8 years after stopping the drug

I take adderall for add and took ambien once but I had an adverse reaction to it and was up all night. If you can trying taking the adderall earlier in the day. I have heard good things about lunesta for a sleep aid

The MedScape Drug Interaction Checker shows no interactions between Adderall and Ambien. So there shouldn't be a problem with that.

I've been taking Ambien for years for chronic insomnia. It works quickly -- and it doesn't leave me groggy or hungover in the morning.

I can't say if you *should* get a prescription to Ambien, but it's a good sleep aid and worth considering.

Ambien works very well as a sleep aid, but there are risks involved (dependency and/or rebound insomnia). Having experienced terrible withdrawal symptoms from antidepressants, I learned to avoid controlled substances whenever possible. That's why I'd rather stick with something safer, such as Rozerem, also a prescription sleep aid (but with no risk of dependency), or something over-the-counter, like valerian extracts, melatonin tablets, or even chamomile tea.

There is an EXCELLENT section from ConsumerReports.org that compares different prescription sleeping pills. You MUST visit it if you haven't:

addoral is basically prescription speed neway, if you get stuck into taking uppers to wake up and downers to go to sleep then your going to be a druggie for your entire life, my advice, realize that ADD is a completely BS "disease" that parents and doctors tell kids they have to give them creativity and energy suppressing drugs (basically to turn them into zombies, cuz zombies are not annoying) just deal with the "attention deficit disorder by learning how to FOCUS. otherwise your lifes not going to be very much fun.
