what is strong faith? How strong does it need to be?

That's a good question. someone asked a similar one last week.

Hebrews 11:17-19
People put their trust in different things. Some place faith in the Lord; others trust in themselves or another person. Faith can even be placed in relationships, money, or politics. Anytime we put absolute trust in something, we demonstrate faith. So, the question isn't, Do I have any faith? but rather, In what have I placed my faith? Looking at that question honestly will shake up your assumptions about your spiritual life.
An old saying explains, "Faith gives feet to belief." Simply put, this means that faith is the active expression of what you believe about God. If you have the idea that He sits in some far-off place called "heaven" and only halfheartedly listens to your prayers, then that will reveal itself in your day-to-day walk of faith. Your God will seem small, powerless, and disinterested. The result will be a string of seemingly unanswered prayers and a general sense of defeat.
If, on the other hand, you believe that God is right beside you, whispering in your ear, pouring out His Holy Spirit upon you - and that He is intimately familiar and concerned with the minutiae of your life - then such a belief will impact your faith walk. Prayer will be a joyful exchange between cherished friends, and the evidence of our heavenly Father's miraculous power will become commonplace in your daily life.

Weak faith says, "God can." Great faith says, "God will." But perfect faith - godly faith - says, "It's done." Your faith is your testimony.

Muffin is right 100% Strong faith is unshakable. Hows strong does it need to be??? *whew* thats a tough one... lemme see This will sound kinda paradoxial, it is relevant to the weight you are carrying or the challenge you are up against. If you are honest with yourself and say "i failed that test" then your faith is not as strong as it should be. I have recently failed several "tests" because my faith is not as strong as it needs to be. It is a very humbling experience to be sure. How much weight can a bridge carry? That depends on how it was built, faith is the same. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So build your tower or bridge there and it will be strong enough when you need it - i hope. On most things i am certain, on this i will have to defer to what is written and simply relay it. Because i am not one to "preach" faith. Me have a long way to go on that one.

When you will take abuse and hatred from other people, and feel GOOD about it, ...when you see all that Father God does for you and you feel blesses, and can forgive in a second....I have so much faith in God and Jesus...I love them so much..I want to be a soldier for Them..God has never let me down and never will...I don't care if anyone hates me for my faith, and like Jesus said, ""marvel when they hate you for my name, because they hated Me more first ( not quoted...)....Even if you have the faith of a mustard seed, you have the chance for eternal life, so it says in the Bible...It depends on how strong YOU are and how much you Love and want to serve God and Jesus...Keep the faith, stay strong, hold on the the plow, and GO FORWARD!!!!!

Hi goosebumps!! :o) One of the Biblical passages that has always comforted me is the one where we are told that the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains. [a mustard seed is very small - in case you didn't know] God KNOWS how difficult it is to have faith. He KNOWS that the world is a very unfriendly place for those who believe. Try not to get too hung up on the size of your faith. And don't become discouraged whenever you're dealing with feelings of doubt. Faith is something we cling to. It's not something we have. We have to WORK on faith. Craig!! :o)

Strong faith cannot be shaken no matter what the circumstances are. You don't question God and you praise Him in everything and at all times.

i think of that the 2d has greater faith . although i'm quite skeptical as to what you're thinking flaws in the biblical textual content. on the time the bible became into written they probably had no longer had the scientific expertise to call a winged creature who looks like a chicken in flight must be something different than a chicken. whilst paul commanded the ladies in church to be silent he became into conversing in a church that were long following the gods and goddesses in a pagan faith the place the ladies have been often in charge. He instructed them to be quite till the provider became into over and to then ask their husbands what became into reported as there became into greater desirable than in all probability chaos and yelling whilst paul began preaching the be conscious. To added returned that up, there are scriptures in the bible the place women have been called to evangelise and have been seen religious leaders. The dying of a newborn for disobedience became right into a regulation that became into in the OT cases and Jesus nullified the % for that with the recent covenant. those previous regulations have been often for the Jew and it became into seen Abrahaimic regulation. i gets returned to you on Saul.
