asked me if I would take care of her son three days a week on a regular basis. I have a little girl at the same age and have said that I would think about it, and am considering doing this. I have thought about coming up with a simple contract just to cover me in case of an accident but I dont know how much I should charge. I am going to ask that she pack lunch for him and spare clothes, I will provide drinks and snacks. I will be caring for him from about 8am til 3pm, three days a week. He is two years old. How much should I charge her for this? Also, any ideas from anyone else who has done this would be helpful...thanks...

Set it up that she pay reg, on time and never is late. no excuses!! I would think that 15 each day would be good since she will supply his food and you will not have any extra overhead to consider. Do make a contract for accidents and also get her to sign a release in case he needs to see the dr in an emerg.so you can ok medicine or what is needed. As for his medical history and pediatrician's name and no.also.Do everything to protect yourself legally. It will be good for your child to have a playmate and you will still have plenty of days to with her alone and to get all of your own work done. Sounds good! Best wishes!

Daycare charges $125.00 for a 5-day week. That's $25.00 a day... Now because your not a "real" day-care, you can cut some slack on that amount to about $20.00 a day which would be 60.00 a week. That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I pay $2 dollars an hour per child, that sounds good since it's your neighbor.
