If you are intent on losing weight through a vegan diet, try and make that diet as balanced as is possible, to ensure you get the right amounts of nutrients, proteins and minerals from your diet.
Oh, and 2.5 litres of water, daily, is usually of benefit to any attempts to lose weight, especially in the long term.

Not if you are insulin resistant. I went vegan then I went on Atkins (high protein low carbs). I lost the weight faster on Atkins. 30 lbs vs. 8 lbs (vegan) in 4 months. I don't experience bloating and gas on Atkins like I do on vegan.

Also its important to drink a lot of water. Remember the idea is to flush out the old/bad and starting replacing it with healthier things.
