Even if he was middle eastern, which he was not, arabs did not enter Egypt until 620ad, therefore he would have stood out amongst the African people of ancient Egypt.
And saying he was a "Jew" is insufficient for the simple fact that Jewish people and Europeans have the same color skin or are you going to deny that truth also?

"The Nubians were *******, you twit, they lived south of Egypt in what is today northern Sudan. "
Wow, how can you be so stupid? The temple of Ramses III clearly shows that the Egyptians saw themselves as the same race as the Nubians. Because I hate ignorance, especially arrogant ignorance I will provide a link below.

Simple. He wasn't White. He didn't have blue eyes or dreamy sandy brown hair. He was dark skinned. The reason he's depicted as White is the people who have the greatest influence in Christian churches are all White and have always been White. They would never want to imagine their saviour as being someone of a darker, "lesser" race, so they reinvented what they thought Jesus should look like.

Look at the answers you've gotten. "Jesus was a Roman" (born in Jerusalem where all Roman's origionated, no doubt), "Jesus was Mediterranian" (but still White). The entire continent over there is dark skinned, but it actually OFFENDS these so-called Christians that Jesus may look more like Gandhi than Heath Ledger. Sad.

If they were real Christians, what would matter is not what Jesus looked like, but what he said. If he was Black (which is more probable than him being Blonde) they would be able to look beyond themselves and see that he was still their master. After all, they claim to worship him.

Most scholars today do not accept the concept that Jesus looked like a very white, Flemish-looking man with a sort of light brown beard and slim build. In reality, he probably looked like a somewhat muscular, hairy, olive to dark skinned Middle Eastern man. Having said that, Egypt of Jesus's time was very cosmopolitan and included people who were not dark skinned, including Greeks and Romans. It would not be hard whatsoever to hide in the Egypt of Jesus's day, no matter what color he was. And by the way, Jews lived in Egypt during the time of Jesus - it would not be unusual to see a Jewish family of three living there at all, no matter if they were dark skinned or light skinned. And also, many Jews are olive or dark skinned. Most Israelis of today immigrated from North Africa and the Middle East, and they are olive or dark skinned. And just because the original Egyptians were "Hametic," that doesn't mean they were Negroes. To be from the continent of Africa does not mean that everyone ever living there was a black person; they were not. An example: the Berbers of North Africa are not *******; they are caucasion even though they are olive skinned.

Its not important what 'colour' Jesus was. Probably swarthy. And probably different from the general type of Egyptian. What IS important, is WHY Herod wanted him killed. Herod was a Jew and knew the Old Testament where at Daniel 9; 25 & 26, is the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah. Herod believed it and thought he would be thrown off his throne by the Messiah, so Herod thought he could pre-empt the problem by doing away with this same 'Messiah'. Almighty God protected Jesus by having an angel warn Joseph and Mary to flee to Egypt and not return till
Herod had died.

Since Jesus was born, lived and died in the middle east, he would have looked like everyone else in that area.

And, there would also have been quite a few Southern Europeans in Egypt at the time of Jesus' birth.

1. In 332 BC Alexander the Great conquered Egypt. After his death one of his generals, Ptolemy, claimed the throne and thereafter the Egyptian Pharoahs were Greek. (Pharoahs tended to marry their siblings)

2. in 31BC Egypt became part of the Roman Empire. Rome expanded trade with the east further opening the Silk Route to bring silks from China. Merchants, including Jewish merchants, traveled the Silk Route. (There was a series on Public Television about this.)

3. "In the time of Ptolemy Jews comprised almost a quarter of the population of Alexandria and remained a substantial force in the Egyptian community for more than a millennium...." http://www.mindspring.com/~jaypsand/egypt2.htm

Jesus and his family could easily have passed for Jewish merchants and the local Jewish Egyptian community could have taken them in and assimilated them.

I found this article also
"Do all Jews "look the same?"

Thanks to conversions, interfaith marriages, migration and assimilation, there is no one kind of Jew, either in origin, looks, or background. Jews have existed all over the Mediterranean region long before and long after they were expelled from their homeland Judea in 70 CE, and have spread all over the globe."

I think no matter what Jesus looked like, he would have "blended in" with one group or another that was in the Egypt of his day.

The truth is "white people"-caucasians come from the black race as albinos, who over time produce a stable colour by mixing with other races.
The first University in the world was in Ghana(Africa) and hence the "white race"is not the expert on the history of the world.
1)The first Atomic Bomb was dropped by God on Sodom and Gomor(Sin Cities).
2)The first Gun was used by David, who fired a lead round rock from a tube penetrating the helmet of Goliath.A sling shot is a loose word and was commonly used to refer to a Gun,which has no fix inventor.
The secrets of the Atom Bomb was handed down to:Sir Albert Alstein,a Jew to hold as a Secret until the appointed time(E=mc2).etc
Jesus Christ was not of this world and the rules of Death would not apply to Him leading to a Ressurection.
Jesus was looking to be caught by Herod at an early age and was not in hiding at all,but Herod and the rest wanted to cause Him pain and killed children 2 years old and below, etc
Jesus Christ in all circumstances was a ***** as Adolf Hitler stated and tried to kill all that Jesus died to save, the *****,Jews,Homosexuals and Prostitutes, etc all victims of the System of Things(Satan)...

Questions like these only push Afro-Americans and Africans further from equality with other races because of ignorance and dogma of some Afro-Americans and Africans! Jesus was a middle eastern and is jewish but Now he is of no gender nor race but a spirit which is more important! Focus on that!

I think you are a little messed up here - they left the lands that Herod had jurisdiction over ... Herod's men didn't search through everyone in Egypt looking for the 'weird Jewish couple'.

There were Jews living in Egypt, and Egyptians in Roman occupied lands.

People mingled then.

Weird huh?

well the fact was he was decedant of Jews and if you look at the israelites themselves and not all the jews around the world that have intermarried with different races then you see them as darker complection then most caucasion Europeans.

The bible says that he was the color of the earth which is not white however, the European artist of that time depicted him in painting to the likeness of the people indigenous to there country. So who's to say really. I agree he was of darker complexion. But I saw a painting of a black jesus all buff with corn rows once and it made me laugh because I realized that it's people trying to create Jesus rather then just trusting him no matter what he looked like.

Besides if it came down to it, it says that Jesus made himself dissappear in a crowd of people, so we wouldn't necessarily have to limit his skin color as means of camoflouge

what makes you think that the Egyptians were as dark as people in sub Sahara Africa?

To make that statement you would have to say that Muslim invaders went into Africa and threw out all the people that were their. Their is no record of this happening. So its not a stretch to say that the current Egyptians are the same color as they were 2,000 years ago.

the bigger question is why do you care so much. Even if the Hebrews were black as an African American you cannot trace your roots to any particular part of Africa so you will never know.

If you read the Bible you would know that an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream telling him that King Herod was out to kill all the infants under 2 years old. Therefore Joseph fled out of Egypt before Herod could act.
