Please help...how do I get out of this? I've got a doctor's note because I'm about to have a nervous break-down over this theft. They are non-refundable and I'm just sick about this. All advice would be appreciated.

The tickets ARE refundable, just not by the airlines. Call the credit card company and dispute the charges. Be clear in that you did not authorize this purchase and had no knowledge of the purchase until after the fact. They'll instantly close out your existing account and issue you a new card. You'll have to sign an affadavit, and that person can be sued for fraud. It may take some time, but the money will be returned to your account. If they took your card without your permission, then don't feel badly about it. Then watch your credit report for the next 6 months (every 60 days or so), just to make sure your information wasn't used elsewhere. I can promise you, this happens a lot. The good news is that it's a credit card and not a checking account. You'll get the money back; it's just going to take some time. Just breathe in.. breathe out. Good luck.

So, the trip to Paris is off? (past question).
Lots of ways; if you have reported your credit card stolen, you can inform the credit card company that you will not recognise that transaction, and they can try and get a refund for youor give you a refund themselves from insurance.
You can return the tickets to the travel agent before the time of flying and cancel the tickets. After the flight time will get a lower refund.
You may have to wait several weeks if not months but if you don't use the tickets, you are entitled to some or all of your money back.....eventually.

If it was truly a "theft" and "Fraud" was involved notify your credit card company and they will take care of it. However, if you "authorized" your card being used and now are having cold feet about it--you're screwed. Lesson in Life: Think before you act.

Call the police and press charges. Call the credit card co and tell them your card was stolen and you didn't make that purchase. And never talk to your so called friend again.

Phone your credit card company, explain the situation, and tell them it is an unauthorized purchase. Phone and speak to a manager, or someone who has the authority to remove the charge. Don't take a "no" from someone who isn't authorized to give a "yes".

If it was stolen then go report it to the police and have your "friend" arrested for it. Call your credit card co. and tell them it was an unauth. purchase, and that they should have never of allowed it. Demand your money back!

How did your "friend" get to use your credit card? if they used it without your permission or knowledge, just go to the police!!!! and see a solicitor, to see if there is any way you can get the money refunded to you, by law.

If your card was used with your permission, and you have just changed your mind, I doubt you have much of a case....
