You are not entitled to get a free credit report if you are sued.
I really don't like the advice about signing up for credit, just go get rejected and qualify for a report. Why take the negative hits on it?
Consider signing up to one of those "free" credit report services such as http://www.freecreditreport.com then cancel out within the first 30 days.
Another option is to file a dispute against your current report. By law, after it has been "investigated" they must supply you with an updated report.
My question is why you are in such need to get a report so soon?

If you're desperate, apply for a store's credit card (Sears, Victoria's Secret, Lowe's, whatever). Since your credit is poor, you'll be declined. They'll send you a letter detailing why and at the bottom they have to offer information on how to get a free credit report (anytime you are denied credit you have the right to know why). Naturally, the application will be a small mark against your credit, but not as bad as a late payment, and not too awful as long as you only do it once.

You can't get a free report by being sued.
I agree, if you cannot afford or have no way to get your reports, apply online for credit and get your free report after the denial.
Nordstrom will pull Experian and Equifax reports when you apply for the Visa. They will pull your Experian for the Visa and if you don't qualify for that, they will pull your Equifax for the store card. Be sure to apply for the Visa and not the store card.
Bank of America pulls Trans Union, so apply with them for that report.
Apply online. If it tells you to wait 7 to 10 days, call them the next day or the day after. When they tell you that you are denied, verify which credit bureau they pulled from.
After you hang up from them, call the credit bureau and order your free (denial) report.
You do not have to wait for the letter to find out if you were denied credit and you do not have to wait for the letter to call and get your free reports from the denial.
You will take three hits on your reports, but they will be small hits and after 6 to 12 months will have no impact on your scores.

You can get a free copy of your credit report from all 3 credit bureaus once a year. After that you have to pay. You can go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and fill out the info. You can also request the reports by mail.
***Everyone is entitled to one copy each year for free from each of the 3 credit reporting bureaus. A lot of people don't know it. You can also freeze your credit report and control who has access to it.

Yes, go apply for a credit card and get turned down, they company you applied at will have to send you a letter explaining why they turned you down along with the credit reporting agency that reported it. Then you can send for it for free as long as you have the letter that shows you were turned down. A word of advise get the letter copied before you send it in case it gets lost.
Good luck

no. you can go to a car dealership and ask someone to run it for you and they will definately show you the report, but remember that it doesn't help you to keep doing it and it hurts your score.
