I know a promise ring signifies a serious relationship commitment, somewhat less than that of an engagement, but could it be used to 'promise' your virginity to someone?

I think promise rings are a great idea. It allows you to tell your partner how serious you are about him/her and the relationship. I can't think of anything more romantic then a promise of your first sexual act:)

That really depends on you and your partner. I can't see why the promised ring can't be used to 'promise' your virginity to someone. It's a sacred thing between you and your partner on what you two want your promised rings to signify.

I never understood the idea of a promise ring.
If you are too young too marry someone, then you are too young to promise anything to that person. Why promise to be engaged to get engaged, that just seems silly.

Absolutely!
I know a couple that promised their virginity to each other with their promise rings, and at their wedding they traded them to each other as a sign of, "here, I give my virginity to you".
It was awesome.

yea... my friend has one but no one gave it to her.. she has a boyfriend but it's a promise to herself not to lose it till shes married... either to her current boyfriend or whoever she may marry in the future... it could mean whatever u want... i just wear one cause i like rings...
