It's the second budgie that I've killed in less than 2 months, am I an irresponsible pet owner? I was squeezing it so it wouldn't fly, but then someone called me on the phone, and I didn't release it, so it died in my hand without me knowing about it until the conversation was over. IT WAS JUST A BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember when she would play with the ball hanging from her cage.........8*(

You should not kill yourself. But before you get another budgie, get some training on how to handle them and make sure you are more gentle the next time.

The first thing to do is to stop beating yourself up about this. You do need to learn about what not to do and there should be bird fancier clubs in your area to talk to. They can teach you how to hold the little monsters IF it's needed and a number of other things to keep both of you happy. Try a search using your city or state (or whatever you use in your area) with bird club, associations or whatever else you think might work with parakeet or parrot. I had a mated set of Cockatiels for a very long time and you can learn as I did. It just takes time and a bit of effort.

Yeah I easily have and it became fairly unhappy. i became driving (the speed reduce) and it became darkish, then abruptly, in my headlights theres this vast black aspect. I went instantly over it and did not actually have time to end and react. i ended in the midst of the entire highway and ran decrease back to the animal. It became a canines...I cried for days. actually, I felt like i killed someone and the concept-about being the rationalization of something else's discomfort became insufferable and that i wasn't able tochronic for awhile. it became unhappy because the canines became easily operating faraway from it really is vendors who were attempting to snatch the canines previously it were given run over. I held the canines and it became bleeding throughout me. I easily have a weak point for animals, yet for decades i ended killing **** roaches because i felt undesirable, till i got here upon out that in the Bible it talks about how pests (roaches, ants, insects and so on..) are the plague. So, i kill all of them. except that is a canines, cat, chicken, or something of that nature.

You clearly should not get another bird in till you know how to care for them properly, you should not squeeze a bird at all, unless you do want to kill them. Did you even read a bird book before purchasing your birds, you really need to if you consider getting another.

Don't get a bird until you learn to be responsible. Birds should perch, you shouldn't need to hold, let alone SQUEEZE it. I'm speachless, I mean, how can you KILL a baby budgie?

Leave it in the cage and quit holding it. Teach it to get on your finger, and never hold it in your hand, How old are you, maybe you are to young to have a bird

Stay away from pets until you realize that they're not WWE wrestlers, built to be mishandled. I hope you learn by your mistakes, and don't let peoples crude answers to your question get you down, when they can crap out a rose, they're better than you.
