Im a junior and well the reasons i hate public schools in San Diego are because they give you 3 required classes and 3 bs elective classes... i hate that! it makes me mad, i just want to go to school to meet requirments... not electives?? those are pointless and wasted hours in my life. would home school be better because they give you the classes you need to graduate in a packets and you only go to school once a week WHAT TYPE OF SCHOOL WOULD BE BEST FOR ME????

I know what you mean. The year I was a senior, the only class on my list that I NEEDED was English. I had 5 electives for the rest of the time. I should have tested out and graduated early....

Anyway, from what you say, homeschool would probably be better for you. You wouldn't regret it. But where do you get the idea that it's only one day a week? I homeschool 2 of my kids (the youngest is just a baby), and we work for a couple of hours every day. If one day a week works for you, then fine.

Colleges are actually GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY to recruit homeschooled now, because they know the kids are serious about their education and hard workers and they actually learned what they needed to.

Good luck!

If it's the schools that are requiring the electives, and not the State of California, then yes, look into homeschooling.

Who's giving you classes in packets? I've never heard of that. Is it a special program?

Forget about home schooling at this stage in your education. You only have one or two years left, years that you will cherish for the rest of your life if you stay IN school. School is about socialization as much as formal education, and you need to learn that. Besides, what else would you do with your "precious" time? Trust me, it is that time that would end up being the "pointless and wasted hours" in your life.

It's time to start growing up and accepting your responsibilities. And in return, you will receive a great sense of self-worth and accomplishment in return for your successful completion of h.s..

Look into Charter Schools.

Then again, They too will require you to take BS electives & more BS Required Courses! LOL

going to a good public school is always better than home schools because colleges can look up the school and know its good. Unlike homeschooling by a teacher or parent. And you dont get the benifets of school like clubs, friends, and college counselers.

I think home school is suited for you considering your cited preferences. Anyway, it does not matter where you are schooled as long as you get the proper education and be eligible to advance until earning a degree is still education.
