According to Wikipedia in the 1960's, an opera aria from Pagliacci was used but the latest reference I found is one to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's (and no, I'm not making this up) SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW/WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE medley. For that one go to ABOUT.com and go for World Music and/or Rice Krispies. Of course, you could try 'rice krispies music' in a Yahoo search and you will probably get there as well plus find a an offer from Kellogg's to record the theme song with their help. Might be fun.

If this is the newer commercial, I haven't seen the commercial in a while but I'm pretty sure it's Somewhere Over The Rainbow. There are words to the song but they only played the intro.
There's more info on the song at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over_the_Rainbow
