in case you want "astonishing" and "unhappy," i'd say "growing Jane." it really is a fictionalized biography about Jane Austen even as she became in her 20s - very English era piece with intricate costumes, proper surroundings, and witty talk. And this is the in ordinary words romantic action picture that ever made me cry.
