I wanna do a lipsynch video..but it seems so hard to edit it so that the timing is absolutely perfect. Does anyone have any tips for me? I'm determined..time and patience really isn't an issue. I'm just looking for maybe a few shortcuts to get where I want to go :-)

ok first of all, it really helps if youve heard the song like a million times (which i bet you have, otherwise you wouldnt be making a video of it)

make sure the room that your recording in is quiet and have a stereo or something to play the song youre doing. turn up the volume loud, but not too loud that it hurts your ears. then start recording, it helps if you have a lcd screen or something where you can see yourself. start the camera, then let it roll for about 5 seconds, then turn on the music and start lipsynching. you can sing softly if you like, but dont sing loud enough that you wont be able to hear the music on the video. do a couple for practice, or more if necessary. then after you have a good video, import it into movie maker (or any other editing program that lets you see the sound waveforms).

put the video in the timeline, and expand the sound waveforms. now zoom in, and you should be able to see the sound from the video. it should be flat, or flatter, at the beginning than the rest of the video. now find the part where it sticks up and stays like that for the whole video. that should be where you turned on the stereo (beginning of the song). now import your actual song file and put it as the soundtrack. then drag the beginning of the song to the beginning of the part of the waveform where it sticks up. then fine tune as necessary. finally, mute the sound from the video, and your done. hope this helps!

Maybe you could try actually singing, but so low that your voice isn't audible over the song.
