Sex can be considered overrated. If sex is unenjoyable to you, why don't you consider taking matters into your own hands? You can't change the experiance unless you make the efforts to change it. I think you're married, I looked at some of your other questions. Go to a sex shop, take a look at the stuff they have for couples. Body paint, games like "truth or dare". If all else fails in trying to improve your sex life with your husband... REALLY take matters into your own hands. Literally.

Go out, buy a vibrator, and enjoy some one on one time with yourself. People sometimes look at masturbation as a nasty act... But I was always taught.. If you want something done right, do it yourself. So.. Do it yourself.

And, just to make you laugh.. I have a keychain that says..

What women do after sex:
5% Take a shower
5% Read a book
5% Go to sleep
85% Go get their vibrators

Because we live in a particularly individualistic, material and base society that praises music gods, enjoys NASCAR for the sheer thrill of speed and danger, and considers sex one of the higher pleasures out of its simpliciy as well as its offer to escape into a wild, insurrectionary, and immoral world where you can enjoy all those sinful, carnal pleasures without answering to any damn authority.

But asking such a question to those people will make them think your not getting any, and if you are one of those people, you probably aren't. Truth be told, sex is what it is, majority of people just happen to enjoy it, thus that leads it to be heavil marketed. The same is true for NASCAR, city dwellers could care less, but you still see it everwhere, because all the country men enjoy it quite a bit, but it is otherwise not overrated in the slightest way.

People want sex the most when they are not getting any. In any committed and loving relationship, sex is and should be a wonderful part of it. However, if you or anyone else believe that sex is overated, you are not doing it right.

i ask this same question myself. a lot of time sex is romanticized in both tv, books, advertisement, etc. in books, sex is described as the most amazing thing in the world, in media, sex= beauty and power. but in real life, it is nowhere near that. but there is no one answer because everyone may not agree that sex is overrated
