I've been using Nero but it slows my system to a near stop when burning. Is there something less processor intensive?

I don't need software for copying DVD movies, I need software for making an ISO DVD backup of files on my hard drive.

Found it!!! A program called Cheetah DVD Burner 1.56 does the job and I can surf the web with little or no slowdown! No need to go out and buy more RAM people!!!! ;)

Try upgrade your memory, to min 512MB

When using the Nero program, make sure that you are not using other programs. Apart from slowing down the whole process, your backup copy may be affected.

P.S. and if your HDD has less than 50% free space... it's time to upgrade as well.

I had that same problem until I upgraded to a much bigger hard drive. 80gb rom and 256 ram and I have just added another 512 more. If you have less than that then there isn't much you can do except make sure nothing else is running while you are burning. Also. Before you start be sure you clean out your internet cache, files, cookies and history.

Hope that helps.

easyDVDclone is nice and quick and simple, but you have to pay 50 dollars for the license, you can download a trial version and it gives you 3 free burns or upto to 30 days. Let me know how you like it.
