It will hurt, but you will be fine. Just think about the after look! Your smile will be perfect. And not many people can say that...

Im also had braces. Now im already removed it. I dont know if there are same steps or not but these are the steps that i went thru, briefly.

1. The doctor first will check your teeth if there is any decay and fix it. Then he will clean your teeth and making mole out of it. This mold will then turn to a model then used by the doctor to study. It takes about six to 7 days for the doctor to study the model and call you back. The time will depend on the patient and availablity of the doctor.

2. When you been called back the doctor will pull out two tooth, from the upper and lower. This is to make the space so that teeth will moved inwards when they put the wire.

3. In the third visit after your recovery. Then the doctor will put the braces on. It will pain like hell at the first time. But they will give you some medicine.

4. After that you need to make a visit each month for check up and replace the rubber band on you braces.

Thats all i think. Hope you will make it thru. Have a nice smile!

u can't eat a bunch of good stuff... not that most of us listen to that. It will hurt the first maybe week after u get them on. it doesnt hurt when they put them on it is just a pain in the but top sit with ur mouth open so long. the first time before the tightening it takes some getting used to... right before teh tightening it kinda digs into ur cheeks and playing an instrument(if u do) is kinda hard. after the tightenings it will hurt for a few days but then it is fine. I would seriously recomend not haveing carmel though. ;-)

i got braces like 6 months ago and there's nothing to worry about. first the doctor xrays ur teeth then he will tell how long u have to wear them. when u come back in they glue the braces on and then run the wire through and ur done. mine didn't hurt until a couple hrs after i got them on and advil helps a lot. u can't eat solid foods 4 like a week cuz ur teeth are sensitive. but don't let people scare you. really the only problem i've had is when the wire gets 2 long in the back of ur mouth it can cut u. all u have to do is go back and they will trim it. Good Luck ur teeth will be awsome when u get em off!

I remember when I had my braces put on. The orthodonist pulled four teeth out then the put the brackets and wiring. Its very painful you wont be able to eat solid foods only liquids. So each time is tighten its painful. and your teeth becomes sensitive to cold and hot stuff. Follow the instructions indicated by the orthodonist, and it will be worthed even though its going to be painful. Wish you luck.

you should get it done as early as possible. Because as u age, your teeth actually gets stronger, so it more difficult to readjust already...
i had mine did when i was 17 ;)
don't worry about the procedures, the nures and dentist should be experienced enough i believe. however, you can ask the nurse to explain to you what is the steps about, if u are really interested =)
