It is never legal to brake in order to punish a fellow driver. The last thing you want to do is kill someone (the driver behind you may swerve to the left or right to avoid you, slamming their vehicle into a pedestrian or other vehicle). Check with the California Driver's Manual (available online at http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/driver_handbook_toc.htm ) regarding speed limits and safe driving practices and what to do if someone tailgates you.

Don't give in to roadrage or anger. There's so little time in life. Enjoy it while you can and ignore the jerks!

don't do the brake checking... that's annoying... even though it can be fun... one suggestion though... don't do it when there is a semi behind you. It takes longer to stop something that's 80000# and is 80 feet long. If you are going the speed limit it's alright... just stay to the right. If they are annoyed it's their own damn fault for being in a hurry. I drive in Chicago every day with a governed truck @ 65. Even though the speed limit is 55, I still do 65 and I'm still the slowest thing on the road (even grandmas late for bingo are flippin' me off). Plus the fact that trucks have restricted lane usage too, makes for an eventful day everyday.

So in short, don't brake check and they can go around you, don't worry about them.

well...i have learned from experience too never speed again unless it is absolutely mandatory...i recently paid a ticket that was suppose to be over $300 but i got it cut down by talking to the district attorney where i live..i ended up paying $175.00 i have learned my lesson and i will never speed again if i can help it....and what most people don't know is that in the drivers ed book when apply for a license it says adjust your timing accordingly...leave a few minutes earlier to avoid having to speed and the day after i got a ticket i have been doing just that!

if you are doing the speed limit continue doing so...don't let other people piss you off...if they don't like how fast you are going **** them they can go around you. And i think going with the flow of traffic is bullshit....i have actually seen a cop pull over a group of people and write tickets out to that entire group..after receiving one ticket i can guarantee you that for at least a month that an individual will pay attention to their speed

I am always amazed how different we all are while driving. As yourself, "If I was walking on a sidewalk and I knew someone behind me was trying to get around me would I block them?" Common courtesty suggests that you should move to the right to allow faster traffic to proceed. You can only control your own vehicle. What is the point of continuing to block someone who wants to pass? Slower traffic should stay right and just treat others as you whish they would treat you. It's the Golden Rule. Being spiteful once you know that someone wants to pass is just immature.

I used to brake check, but now if somebody's riding my butt, I just let off the gas. I figure when they're going 15 mph under the speed limit, they'll figure it out. Also, when they flip you off, really piss them off worse by blowing them a kiss! Pissed off drivers really like that! No, really.
